Statement of Study
Teenage Stress
To investigate the negative impacts of stress on the teenagers within the community of Good-
Hope?
3

Aims/ Objectives
● To find out the causes of stress on teenagers.

● To find out the family types teenager stress is prevalent among.

● To find out possible solutions to reduce teenage stress within the community.
4

Task 2
Reason for Selecting the Area of Study
The typical reason why the researcher selected this topic “teenage stress” is because it is the
foremost problem within the researcher’s community. Teenager stress in the community seems
to be the foundation of suicidal problems. The scenario of teenage stress created when teen’s
social relationships with friends, boyfriend and girlfriends and the issue of sexual activities
arises. There is also the sense of hopeless, inactiveness and health related problems such as
depression, which reflects to the modern life as the young generation that tend to abuse
themselves by using sharp materials and leave marks of deep agony on their exterior body parts.
When teens who should be focused on education and future thoughts are busy carried away with
a simple feeling of love and thinks of pleasure 24/7. Be that as it may, it is important that an
investigation be carried out to discover a possible solution to this issue at hand.
5

Task 3
Method of Investigation
To obtain information on the topic “teenage stress”. The researcher used printed questionnaires,
which allowed participants to state three options with privacy. A questionnaire is a set of printed
or written questions with a choice of answers, decided for the purposes of a survey or statistical
study. (Merriam Webster dictionary) Ramsawak and unraw (2010) state that questionnaires:

● Saves money and time.

● Gives people time to think before writing their answer.

● Reduces interviewing bias as respondents are not influenced by the researcher and it
allows the researcher to gain information from many people in a relatively short period of
time.
