• A process you can direct, guide and influence the behaviour and work of others
toward accomplishment of specific goals.
• Ability to induce the subordinates to work with confidence and zeal.
• Leadership – the potential to influence behaviour of others towards the realization of
a goal.
• Leadership – the ability to persuade others to seek defined objectives
enthusiastically. The human factor which binds a group together and motivates it
towards goals.

a. Transformational Leadership -
• The leader that we need in these tough situation when the ability to articulate
a vision and motivate the employees along with putting the organization
before self is badly needed.
• Transformational leadership goes beyond normal ip. It result in a complete
rejunevation of any organization and a transformation of its place in the
corporate world.

b. Transactional Leadership –
• Known as managerial leadership, focus on supervision, organization and
performance.
• Emphasizes getting things done within the umbrella of the status quo. Not
looking to change the future.
• In opposition to transformational leadership
• “By the book" approach - the person works within the rules, promote
compliance by followers through rewards and punishments-to achieve
compliance from followers.
• Commonly seen in large, bureaucratic organizations

c. Creative Leadership –
• Ability to uniquely inspire people.
• To complex and readily changing situations.

• To generate shared innovative responses and solutions.

d. Corrective Leadership –
• Empowers staff to facilitate collaborative and synergism.
• Working with and through other people instead of bowing to authoritarianism.

e. Change Leadership –
• Endorses alteration.

problems and single solutions.
• Rethinking systems to introduce change on parts of the whole and their
relationship to one another.

CIMIC lines of activities in support of the commander’s plan and to carry out liaison.
c. They will work closely with all staff branches to ensure that CIMIC factors are
considered in all aspects of planning.
d. Particularly close relationship with G3 and G5 staff through which CIMIC
activities.
e. Support the main OPLAN.

7. List and interpret the components of Administrative Organisation.

a. F Ech - Normally small in size and act as ‘post office’ for the fwd of req.
- An A/Q cell may be estb in Bn HQ area to coord req for admin sp.

b. A Ech - Largest admin gp that provide basis for maint of Bn in the fd.
- HQ Coy form up the A Ech HQ.
- Majority of QM, tech sp and specialist pl elm are deployed in A Ech.

c. B Ech - Consist of veh, men and stores not req in F or A ech.


- Liaison with rear supply depot to full fill the demand of A ech.
- Assist in passage of reinforcement to A ech.
- Coord by the Bn RQMS.

b. Economy - provision of sp at the least cost in terms of the resources, e.g.


manpower, eqpt & finance to accomplish the msn. Must consider economy when pri
& allocating resources.

c. Flexibility - ability to adapt log structures and procedures in changing sit, msn
and concept of op.

d. Simplicity - ability to foster efficiency in both the planning & exec of log sp op
through standardised order & procedures, estb of pri & pre-allocation of sup & svc.

e. Co-operation – close cooperation between all staff and units must be


established to achieved common goal.

f. Security – log system must be protected from the en interference, sabotage


and attack.

11. Explain the Logistic Level as given below.

a. Strategic Logistics - encompasses the national ability to raise, deploy and


sustain the operating force. At this level the assets are designed and purchased,
recruiting programmed is initiated and permanent bases are develop and maintained.

b. Operational Logistics - addresses the sustainment within the military


operation. It involved the support activities to sustain a major operation. It
encompasses providing resources to tactical level, procuring resources not provided
by strategic logistics and managing the resources to sustain the combat force.

c. Tactical Logistics - concerned with the sustaining the combat forces and it
deal with the feeding, fuelling, arming and maintenance the troops and equipment.

12. List three (3) CSS capabilities.

a. Able to facilitate logistics support using pushed forward system within time
frame

b. Provided mobile elements form DMA or BMA and static organizations to DAA
or BAA and operating forces.

c. Mobile stock can support within certain period.

d. For low intensity operations, combat forces can be supported direct from
administrative areas i.e. from peacetime locations.

e. For high intensity operation DMA or BMA may be required to be established


forward of the administrative areas from the mobile elements.

13. Describe the classes of supply in logistics.

a. Class I - Subsistence (food) and gratuitous (free) health and comfort items.

b. Class II - Clothing, individual equipment, tentage, organisational tool sets and


kits, hand tools, unclassified maps, administrative and housekeeping supplies and
equipment.

c. Class III - Petroleum, oil and lubricants (package and bulk): petroleum, fuels,
lubricants, hydraulic and insulating oils, preservatives, liquids and gases, bulk
chemical products, coolants, deicer, antifreeze components, components additives of
petroleum and chemical products and coal.

d. Class IV - Construction material, including installed equipment and all


fortification and barrier materials.

e. Class V - Ammunition of all types: bombs, explosives, mines, fuzes,


detonators, pyrotechnics, missiles, rockets, propellants and associated items.

f. Class VI - Non-military items (such as health and hygiene products, soaps


and toothpaste, writing material, cameras etc.

g. Class VII - Major end items such as launchers, tanks, mobile machine shop
and vehicles.

h. Class VIII - Medical material including repair parts peculiar to medical


equipment.

i. Class IX - Repair parts and components to include kits, assemblies and


subassemblies (repairable or non-repairable) required for maintenance support of all
equipment.

j. Class X - Material to support non-military programs such as agriculture and


economic development (not included in Classes I through IX).

k. MISC - Water, salvage and capture material.

14. Name and interpret the Line of Logistics Support.

a. 1st Line Support - All support performed by a unit based on its establishment.
First line support is usually commanded by the parent unit.

b. 2nd Line Support - Support provided by the Bde logistics units to the combat
units within the Bde area of operations. The mobile arm of the logistics units will
issue in detail from their outlets in the field to units deployed in operations.

c. 3rd Line Support - Support provided by Div Logistics units to field formations
within the division area of operations.

d. 4th Line Support - The support provided by the base units under command of
ALC HQ. A link is established along the LoC between the base area and the force
being supported.

e. Local Industry/Foreign Assistance - The support provided byLocal Industry or


Local Contractor or Overseas Contractor through Army HQ – Logistic Branch and
MAF HQ – DL Division.

a. CASEVAC - the timely and efficient movement of wounded, injured or ill


personnel fm battlefield to the nearest designated medical facility. Responsibility of
CEU's of Med Bn at each Div, together with PUTD and RAMF.

b. MEDIVAC - The timely, efficient movement of casualty and its en route care
fm the RAP to higher levels of care facilities using medically- ewuipped veh. This
term differentiate the movement of casualty fm the battlefield to the RAP using non-
medical asset.

c. CAP - First phase of health care provided to the sick, injured or wounded
soldiers. RMDC Corporal (MA Class 1). Casualty is evacuated to RAP either by

walking/ stretcher- bearers or ambulance. Casualties not needing evacuation are
returned to duty.

d. RAP - Second phase of treatment. MO + RMDC Senior NCO. More complete


examination can be performed. Aim is to stabilise the casualty for safe evacuation to
the next phase of health care.
