I. LEARNING ACTIVITY #6

Create a video presentation explaining the argument of Martin Heidegger on the essence of technology
incorporating the current situation of your society?

II. ASSIGNMENT #6

1. It was said that technological advances have provided immerse improvements in our lives, but often
with a hidden cost. How does Heidegger’s argument relate to this? Explain your answer.

There’s a saying that the journey is better than the destination. What Heidegger understood is that
there is great value in the process of discovery. If you could snap your fingers and be transported
instantly to any destination you would never know the joy of travel. If your learning consists of merely
asking google and getting an answer then you lose the ability to learn and discover on your own. This is
all about the discussion of the shallow quality of book smarts versus street wisdom.

2. Technology as a Way of Revealing has something to do with the concept of unlocking and stocking.
How is this so? Explain your Answer.

3. How can you as a student, help spread awareness about the danger of technology in such a way that
technology is not condemned in the process? Explain your answer.

There is little danger in technology itself, not counting a frayed wire that gets you shocked. The danger
comes from the people themselves. Overuse, amounting to addictions , isolation from other people
because of overuse of social media, phones, computers, games, etc. Poor parenting also plays a role as
some parents introduce two year olds to games on phones just to be able to ignore them for longer
periods of time. But there is no danger inherent in technology when it is used properly and within
sensible limits.
