TYPES OF FILTERS

REACTION PAPER
After watching the videos, I learned that a filter is a type of circuit that passes a specific range of

frequencies while rejecting other frequencies. A passive filter consists of passive circuit elements,

such as capacitors, inductors and resistors. It intrigued me after learning the types of filters; Low-

pass filter, High-pass filter. Band-pass filter, and Band-stop filter. It shocked me when I thought

that it serves different roles, first is the Low-pass filter, it is designed to pass all frequencies below

the cut-off frequency and reject all other frequencies above the cutoff; while the high-pass filter,

designed to pass all frequencies above the cut-off frequency and reject all other frequencies below

the cutoff. I was shocked that there are also types of filter that reject or accept frequencies within

a band of frequencies. These are Band-pass filter and Band-stop filter; the first one is the type of

filter that passes all frequencies within a band of frequencies and rejects all other frequencies

outside the band, while the other one is the one that rejects all frequencies within a band of

frequencies and passes all frequencies outside the band.
