OBJECTIVES
At the end of this activity, I should be able to:
1. Know what a transducer is.
2. Identify the types/classifications of transducers.
3. Differentiate a transducer from a sensor.
4. Enumerate the applications of transducers.
THINGS NEEDED
Internet connection and PC/laptop
MS Word and Adobe PPDF

Ultrasonic This transducer can be used to measure the
distance of the sound based on reflection. This
measurement is based on a suitable method
compared to the straight methods which use
different measuring scales. The areas which
are hard to find, such as pressure areas, very
high temperature, using conventional
methods the measurement of the distance is
not a simple task. So, this transducer-based
measuring system can be used in this kind of
zone.
Piezoelectric This transducer is mainly used to detect the

pads. And also used to detect the movement
of the muscle, which can be named

QUESTIONS.
1. What is the main difference between a transducer and a sensor?
Transducer is a device that transform one form of energy into electrical energy and composed of two main
parts, the sensing elements and the transduction elements, a sensor detects a physical, chemical or biological
quantity and converts the data it receives through this detection into an electrical signal. All the transducers
are the sensors, but all the sensors are not the transducers.
CONCLUSION/S
I therefore conclude that a transducer and sensor both measures the physical quantities like temperature, heat, pressure,
and many more that is hard to measure. It is where the sensor converts the physical action to be measured into an
electrical equivalent and processes it so that the electrical signals can be easily sent and further processed.
