MAT 111-GENERAL MATHEMATICS
Final Performance Task

General Mathematics is a core subject in Grade 11-Senior High School that facilitates academic
performance through written works (WW), Performance Task (PT), and the Quarterly Assessment
(QA) to measure learning at the end of every quarter. The grading components for Written Works,
Performance Tasks, and Quarterly Assessments are 25%, 50%, 25%, respectively.

Performance Task 1
Guidelines:
1. This is an individual task.
2. Your task is to find and take a picture of one (1) real-life situation involving either one-
to-one and inverse function or exponential function that can be seen in your school,
at home, or in your environment.
3. The image must be of 4R size.
4. Provide a brief explanation supporting why your image represents a particular function.
5. Your explanation must be of a minimum of 8 sentences and a maximum of 10
sentences.
6. Your output must be a one-page bond paper size of 8.5 by 11 inches.

Performance Task 2
Guidelines
1. This is an individual task.
2. Create one(1) one-to-one function which involves a rational function. Then, do the
following:
a) Find its inverse function
b) Find the vertical asymptotes, horizontal asymptotes, domain, and range
of the original function.
c) Find the vertical asymptotes, horizontal asymptotes, domain, and range
of its inverse function.
d) Graph the original function and its inverse in one cartesian plane. (You
can use graphing software like geogebra or desmos).
3. Create one(1) real-life situation involving exponential function (either exponential
growth, exponential decay, or compound interest. Then do the following:
a) Create an exponential model out of the constructed real-life scenario.
b) Provide 2 (two) follow-up questions about the problem and provide the
complete solution using the constructed exponential model.
c) Sketch the graph of the exponential model which represents the situation.

4. Your output’s size must be 8.5 x 11 inches.
