SPSS in Statistical Computations
❖ SPSS is short for Statistical Package for Social Sciences, and it is used by various kind of
researchers for complex statistical data analysis.
❖ The SPSS software package was created for the management and statistical analysis of
social science data. It was originally launched in 1968 by SPSS Inc., and was later
acquired by IBM in 2009.
a. Data Transformation: This technique is used to convert the format of the data. After
changing the data type, it integrates same type of data in one place and it becomes
easy to manage it. You can insert the different kind of data into SPSS and it will
change its structure as per the system requirement and specification. It means
even if operating system is changed, SPSS can still work on old data.
