We have prepared our product with the use of different ingredients like orange peel, sugar and
water and a small tupper ware for its packaging. We used an exact amount of ingredients in order for us
to identify what more thing we can do once the production finished. We boil the orange peel for about
45 minutes to 1-hour or more low heat and let it dry to remove the excess water on it. After the
production, we divided the portion of our product and let our friends and relatives taste it and asks for
any suggestions or recommendations for the improvement of our product. Also, we ask them if the
packaging we is not the usual and common type of packaging that they see on other products. With
their feedback, we make and produce the product that will be more popular for the target consumers.

There are millions of people making candied orange peel. Some are producing it for snacks, for
treats and some uses it for business purposes. There are also lots of orange plantation and farm in the
Philippines and the purchasing power of the people when it comes to fruits is high resulting to the idea
of making orange product and candied orange peel. The idea of making candied orange peel has been
popular due to the idea of recycling or reducing waste. A whopping 3.8 million tons of citrus peels go
waste each year (Dan Nosowitz, 2017). Reason why people find ways on how to use orange peel as a
snack healthy candy. But this production differs on the ingredients used, the process and the packaging
of the product. People may find it hard to make packaging of the product since it is a simple product but
its uniqueness will make it to be different and attractive to the consumer.

After the making process of the candied orange peel, we found out that the production
consumes so much time mostly in the boiling of the orange peel. We tried many time boiling the peel to
remove the bitterness and citric component of the peel. Also on the making of the syrup, small amount
of sugar should be use to prevent it from the hardening of the syrup. The result texture of the syrup
should be chewy and will not hard once eaten. The orange peels can be stored for a week or longer in a
tightly covered container (Laura Kumin, 2013). If the bitterness of the orange didn’t get rid, boil it for
another minutes, remove some pith (the white inside the fruit peel) but don’t over boil it.
