INTRODUCTION

Background of the Study

Dishwashing liquid also known as dishwashing soap, dish detergent,

and dish soap is a detergent used to assist in dishwashing. It is usually a
highly-foaming mixture of surfactants with low skin irritation, and is primarily
used for hand washing of glasses, plates, cutlery, and cooking utensils in a
sink or bowl. In addition to its primary use, dishwashing liquid also has
various informal applications, such as for creating bubbles, clothes washing
and cleaning oil-affected birds. So I came up with an idea to make eco-friendly
dishwashing liquid.

STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

Generally, the main object of this study is to produce dishwashing liquid

from orange peel.

Specifically, the aim of this study is to determine that orange peel can be
dishwashing liquid. Questions:

1. What can we do with orange peel?

2. How will it turn into dishwashing liquid?

3. Is it worth doing?

SIGNIFICANCE OF THE PROBLEM

This study will not just help the community but also the whole world.
Because it will reduce our waste.

SCOPE AND LIMITATION OF THE STUDY

The study focused only on making dishwashing liquid from orange peel.
This was conducted in Rizal, Laguna year 2021-2022.

REVIEW OF LITERATURE

Orange Peel as an Alternative for Dishwashing Liquid

An orange is a fruit of various citrus species in the family Rutaceae. The

vitamin C in oranges helps your body in lots of ways: Protects your cells from
damage. Helps your body make collagen, a protein that heals wounds and gives
you smoother skin. Makes it easier to absorb iron to fight anemia.

According to R.C Enriquez, M.P. Sapno, M.L. Carson, and Reynold R.

Bangalisan (2019), orange is a fruit known for its delectable taste as well as its
amazing use in the field of medicine. It was, in fact, also fruit for household
purposes. As of now, we always buy our daily needs at the Grocery Store. We
always keep on buying them even if they are expensive. Orange Peel is a highly
concentrated citrus-based neutral liquid detergent formatted as an all-natural
Cleaner. The research methods utilized a quantitative analysis which uses
purposive sampling to get the data from 10 wives and 10 Science Teachers
randomly selected at Bestlink College of the Philippines to test the level of
acceptability of the Dishwashing Liquid in terms of fragrance, appearance,
texture, and affordability. Using the procedure and ingredients like orange
extract, caustic soda, and vinegar, the researcher successfully made an
alternative Dishwashing Liquid. The final product of this research study was
the Dishwashing liquid made from Orange Peel Extract (Citrus Sinension).

In accordance with Angelo Tadeo, Roldan Libay Jr., Lexter John Gomez,
Sheilla Magno, Claudine Macayaon, Ella Samson, and Earl Asuncion (2020),
not only orange but also calamansi and tangerine are the one that researchers
decided to make as alternative cheaper product but more effective than any
other dishwashing liquid we used every day.  Calamansi is loaded with
essential vitamins and minerals. Tangerine acts as an antifungal and antiseptic
ingredient and improves the appearance of the skin. About the safety of
products, the researchers use organic ingredients, such as calamansi and
tangerine extracts, virgin coconut oil, fragrance oil, and castor oil. They ensure
that it goes through the right and proper process and procedure and it has no
chemical contents.  The researchers also aimed to create a unique and quality
product that serves as our trademark by removing the waxes in the fruits and
regenerating and reconstructing the damaged tissue of the vegetable to ensure
their freshness.
 Natural-derived products are becoming a new trend in the household
products. In this research, crude saponin was extracted from Gleditsia peel by
soxhlet extraction method. This compound was the main component that was
used for producing natural dishwashing liquid detergent which is
environmentally friendly and safe for the user’s health.

METHODOLOGY

This section will talk about the procedure and processes involved in the
making of dishwashing liquid from orange peel.

Research Design

The experimental method of research will be used in the study to asses

the ability of orange peel to make dishwashing liquid.

Experimental Research Design is to be used in the study because it

focuses on the result of the orange peel.

Research Locale

The making of dishwashing liquid will be done in Rizal, Laguna.

Subject of the Study

This study focuses on the capability of the orange peel will make.

Materials and Equipments

 Orange peel

 Water

 Oil

 Vinegar

 Soap

 Bottle
Procedure

First is peel the oranges and then put the peels to the pot with water. Boil
it for 5 minutes and get the peels when its done. After that, put the oil and
vinegar in the mixture. Then grate the soap in the mixture and put the mixture
in the bottle and you’re done.

Comments and Suggestions

I suggest to make this because it’s a lot cheaper and has no chemicals.
Also it is so easy.
