INTRODUCTION

Background of the study

Nowaday, we’re always buying our daily needs at the grocery stores even if they are expensive we
always keep on buying them for us to use. Apparently, not all of us can afford to buy those things.

Dishwashing liquid is one of those. It is usually a highly-foaming mixture of surfactants with low skin
irritation, and is primarily used for hand washing of glasses, plates, cutlery, and cooking utensils in a sink
or bowl. In addition to its primary use, dishwashing liquid also has various informal applications, such as
for creating bubbles, and clotheswashing. If we weren’t able to buy those things, we have no utensils to
use.

We are the researchers decided to make an alternative for this liquid, a cheaper product and can be
made in an easier way. It’s because the ingredients can be found easily.

The citric acid in native lemon juice can also eventually tarnish some surfaces. Fad cleaning ideas often
mean that any old rubbish can be passed off as a 'life hack', and end up doing more harm than good.
White Vinegar is fine in moderation, but it's not the wonder-cleaner that people make it out to be.
White Vinegar is not cheap either and using loads as an alternative to some cleaners may not prove to
offer a massive saving in the end.

This study aims to clean plates by using native lemon juice and white vinegar as alternative dishwashing
liquid. Depending on how many the plates are there has stain to be remove, it will test the effectively of
the product. This study aims to know the improvement of cleanliness of the plates, the improvement of
fragrance and also how long the product is clean.

Aims of the study

This study aims to clean plates by using native lemon juice and white vinegar as alternative dishwashing
liquid. Specifically, it would live to answer the following questions:

A. The improvement of the cleanliness of the plates.

B. The improvement of fragrance.

C. Ability to remove stain?

Significance of the study

This study is of significant to clean the plates by using native lemon and white vinegar, without costing
so much money and it is useful to people so they can clean utensils by producing dishwashing liquid.

Scope and Limitation

This study aims to remove utensils stains by using native lemonade and white vinegar. A test on a
product ability to know how long will the stain to be remove, and the level of it's scent. We need to test

REVIEW OF RELATED LITERATURE

The lemon (Citrus × limon) has many health improvement properties. The crisp and tangy aroma of
lemon is unmistakable and it is therefore often used to scent many different household and beauty
products. Lemons are known for their very high Vitamin C content. This Vitamin C, along with other
vitamins and minerals in lemons has been shown to help fight infections, boost immune system, and
even promote weight loss efforts.

The juice of Lemons is often widely used to gain these health benefits as it is easily extracted from the
fruit. Tonics are often made from the juice for a refreshing drink and for health purposes. Lemon juice is
an acid (pH 2-3) as it is made up of about 5% Citric Acid. The word Citric Acid is often confused with the
scientific name of Vitamin C which is Ascorbic Acid, as Lemon Juice also contains lots of Vitamin C.
Lemons are one of the only foods that are anionic (alkaline) but this only applies to fresh lemons, as
after about half an hour of reacting with the air (oxidation) lemon juice becomes cationic (acidic). (The
only other edible substance that is anionic is pure Calcium).

White vinegar is the darling of homemade cleaning supplies. Whether someone is committed to green
cleaning, wants a hard-working multi-purpose product, or is looking for a solution that is about as cheap
as you can get, vinegar is the answer. From window-washing and mopping, to disinfecting the sink and
removing soap scum, trusty ol’ vinegar can be counted on again and again.

The only exception is white vinegar, which is usually made of laboratory-produced acetic acid combined
with water. White vinegar is the most acidic, which can make it a potent cleaner, but it can also make it
too strong for some types of cleaning, in which case you can dilute it with water — or go with something
milder, like apple cider vinegar.

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY

Research Design

Quantitative research is the research design of the study because the study is an experimental study,
where in the experimental is how to use native lemon juice and white vinegar as an alternative
dishwashing liquid. Also considered are the cleanliness of the plates, the amount of native lemon and
vinegar, and the amount of our product we applied.

Research Sampling

Purposive sampling will be use to select a specific number of dirty plates and used plates. As usual, we
always buy our daily needs at the grocery stores even if they are expensive but ofcourse not all of us can
afford to buy all those stuff.

Dishwashing liquid is not too expensive but sometimes people prefer to use bareta because it lasts
longer and cheaper. So we offer a solution a cheaper and eco-friendly dishwashing liquid.

Research Instruments

The researchers instruments that will be used in study is rating scale. The resesrchers seek for
information in identifying the ingredients used in the study.

Rating Scale

A. Application of the Product

The researchers will be giving their sample of their product to (3) three respondents and asked to use it
at their house application is the same as of those other dishwashing products.

B. Making of the Product

The product is fairly easy to make. The researchers will mix 1/2 liter of white vinegar and 1/2 liter of
native lemon juice together producing a total of 1 liter of the product.

C. Gathering of the Data

The respondents that were given a sample of our product will also be given a rating scale in which
he/she will rate the product.

Time allotment will be 1 week. After it the researches collect the rating scale.
