Dear myORTHODONTIST Vancouver,

I am a fourth-year resident at the University of British Columbia Faculty of Dentistry and am applying
for a full-time job as an orthodontist at your office.

I am passionate about helping people alleviate dental pain, improve oral health and enhance
confidence with a perfected smile. Throughout my youth, I struggled with confidence in my smile and
had to endure having braces and double jaw surgery to correct my overbite and crossbite. I want to
provide a comfortable experience for my client and reassure them along the road to a better smile.

I am in my final year of residency at the University of British Columbia Faculty of Dentistry and am
transitioning into the workforce again. Before furthering my education to become an orthodontist, I
worked as a dentist at Amazing Smile Dental Langley for four years. There I developed dexterity
skills while working on children’s mouths and improved my diagnostic skills with many patients with
unique oral challenges. In addition, I worked as a dental hygienist for two years, where I gained
precise attention to detail by performing thorough cleanings for clients and interpersonal skills by
communicating with children and adults. Oftentimes children and even adults face some anxiety about
being at the dentist. As a dental hygienist and a dentist, I learned how to calm those anxieties and aid
in a better overall experience for the client.

I completed my bachelor of degree in science at Simon Fraser University and my Doctor of medical
dentistry degree at the University of British Columbia. I possess all the following qualifications as a
dentist…
- Dental aptitude test
- Bachelor’s degree in science
- Doctor of medical dentistry degree
- Dental licence
- Orthodontist licence

In the upcoming years, the number of dentist job openings could increase to 12,000, According to the
Canadian Occupational Projection System (COPS) issued by Employment and Social Development
Canada (ESDC). I am dedicated to this field and am committed to furthering my career with you at
