Did you know that before, we look for books manually through the
catalogue cards in a catalogue
cabinet? The cards are arranged
alphabetically either by Author’s
name, Subject or Title,
But now, we use OPAC in
searching for available titles in
our collections. Much-much
easier to do. Just type in your
query and bingo, it will give you
the result.
• What is OPAC?
OPAC stands for Online Public Access Catalogue. It is an online
database of materials held by a library or group of libraries through
which users search a library catalog principally to locate books and
other material available at a library, one of the unique aspects of an
online public access catalog is that it is user-friendly and accessible by
all parties. That means - anybody, regardless of their age, status, or
even their level of knowledge about computers, can be able to use the
system.
• How to access JRU OPAC?
Users have two options to access JRU OPAC,
STEP 1. To access JRU LIBRARY OPAC, just click the “Library” icon
and you will be directed to JRU OPAC

You can search using these

category-- title, author, Subject,
ISBN, Series and call number. Just
click the arrow down and choose
your desired category.
You can also limit your search by the type of
library, such as Elem, Graduate, law school,
High School and Main Library collection.
Just click the arrow down and choose.
Or click the title of the book, it will transferred to a page where in you can read the summary of
the content and get the complete information such as the Item type, location, call number
and the barcode
SUMMARY:
Step 2: Simply type in your query in the search bar. You may search by keyword, title, author,
subjects, ISBN series and call number. You may still limit your query by the type of library (ES,
JHS, Main, GS, LS)
Step 3: Once result is given, choose your preferred books. You need to check the status of the
book if it is available. If available, you need to copy the information provided on the book (title,
author, Location, call number and barcode number) if you want to request for the materials.
