some purpose or other. Information needs vary from person to person.

This Online Library System focuses on the user group and their specific information
needs:

Students –Assignments, Research ,Projects , General Interest


Teachers--Teaching and research

General Public--Vocation related information, general interest information

Our application which is the Online Library System has provided its Quality of Service
by having the following services that can satisfy the needs of our users :

 “The sky’s the limit”. An Internet connection, to be precise. As long as it is


available, you have access to information of an online library.
 They can be accessed at the comfort of one’s own home, whenever it feels
convenient and hence keeps the practice of study regular. This ensures that the
people who do not always have access to transport can afford this.
 24/7 availability. A very few usual libraries can be attended at night (the most
productive time for a lot of students). But digital libraries can be used round-the-
clock.
 No necessity to wait for an item. A number of users can read the same book
simultaneously.
They can save the book they want to read and open it even your net is offline.
 Customizable search. You can use any search word or phrase to find a relevant
source. You can sort out items by the author’s name, title, subject, etc.
 The user can be able to use any search term bellowing to the word or phrase of
the entire collection. These Digital library will provide very user friendly
interfaces, giving click able access to its resources. The user may also download
as many books as they want to from an e-library.
 Conservation. A physical copy falls to degradation from persistent use. But it is
not a problem for a digital one.
 More space. As there are almost no physical boundaries at the e-library, it
contains more items in comparison to usual libraries.

Due to the rapid technological change and impact on libraries, the users are more
satisfied with the resources and services provided by the respective libraries has
become a matter of significance for survival of these libraries. We can say that a service
of the library is somewhat considered a good quality is when it fulfills the need of the
users.

This library website will cater different types of useful information. It will also contains
easy and understandable menus such as :

My Account - It's for members of the library. It provides the login window for members,
and general rules and
procedures for quick access.
Databases - Alphabetical list of databases and a
Journals - Alphabetical list of journals and a window to search the name of a particular
Journal.
Subjects - Alphabetical list of subjects. This link contains the links to all the
material (all forms and
formats) having library pertaining to that subject.
Services - various types of services provided by the library.

The library website will be user friendly, updated, relevant and easy to understand so
that a user may not be confused in searching for his desired information. It should be
not only be informative but a learning tool also.
A library website must be effective with proper space for graphics and text. It must
not too flashy or too
insipid for a user. The contents of the website should not be in a ticklish language,
rather words from the day-to-day life which are easily comprehensible.

In navigating through the site the visitor will not face any difficulty in finding his desired
information. He will be able to find easily what he is searching for at a glance.The
common terminology should be used while directing for a common information such as
'Contact Us' to provide the contact details; 'FAQ' to provide in advance the
answers to expected questions. These links could be found on most of the sites
with the same terminology so that the visitor clicks these links for correct
answers to their questions. If the contents are also managed, it is also helpful for visitors
to easily locate their desired information

Our Online Library website will be updated on a regular basis. If any new service or
product is launched, it must be highlighted on the front page of the site.
