Pattern: S + have/has + V3
The present perfect tense is used to express an action beginning in a past time and extending to the
present. Example I have lived in Jakarta since July 30
In some uses it expresses an indefinite past time as contrasted with an action completed in a definite
past time which is expressed in the past tense. Example I have talked to the director about your
problem.
The present perfect tense of to be is have (third person has) plus been. Example:- I've been in the
infirmary before. - He's been in the United states for over six weeks.
