CLASS : 9
SUBJECT : Physics
CHAPTER – 9 : Force and Laws of motion

ASSIGNMENT – 7

1. Write any two difference between balanced and unbalanced force.

2. What kind of force is required to accelerate the motion of an
object ?
3. Two balls of the same size but of different materials, rubber and
iron are kept on the smooth floor of a moving train. The brakes
are applied suddenly to stop the train. Will the balls start rolling?
If so, in which direction? Will they move with the same speed?
Give reasons for your answer.
4. Why are roads on mountain inclined inwards at turns?
5. Name the factors on which momentum of a body depends.
6. A ball is thrown vertically upwards. What is its momentum at the
highest point?
7. When action and reaction forces are equal and opposite, why
don’t they cancel each other?
8. Why does the boat moves backwards when the sailor jumps in the
forward direction?
9. Two bodies of mass is 4 kg and 5 kg are acted upon by the same
force. If the acceleration of the lighter body is 3 m/s 2, then find
the acceleration produced in heavier body. What will be the
acceleration if that very force is applied on both bodies tied
together?
10. A force of 0.6N acting on a body increases it’s speed from 5 m/s
to 6 m/s in 2 seconds. Find the mass of the body.
Activity – “Super Stack”

The way of writing observation and result is also given below, kindly
follow the same. In procedure you can write the directions and fill
the observation/result and conclusion by your own in points.
