Directions: Identify the following steps/procedures of the jumbled basic skills (blocking and
spiking) given in the box. Write and arrange the corresponding steps/procedure on how to
execute.
Blocking Spiking
Follow through with striking arm. Put the foot opposite striking arm forward.
Low center of gravity Short step forward with opposite foot.
Knees are bent Long running step forward.
Wide base of support Bring left/right together to prepare for the
jump.
Center of gravity has increased a little Bend knees to 90-degree angle.
Knees have slightly been extended for Swing arms backwards and then forward
summation of force
Base of support remains the same Use momentum from arms and force from
legs to jump.
Arms have moved in direction of pass In the air, align striking arm with the ball.
Finished with a higher center of gravity Strike the ball with a firm and open hand.
Has a wide base of support throughout the Snap wrist to direct the ball downwards into
skill. opponent’s court.
Follow through with striking arm.
