A. Activities 1. Motivation QAR
What is your favorite proverb? Why do you chose that proverb?
Students will read their favorite proverbs.

Students will read the text “Words of Wisdom” found on page 4 of Learning
Package.

B. Analysis  According to the text, who is considered to be the mother of Philippine Folklore?
 Why was Damiana Eugenio named as the mother of Philippine folklore?
 What are proverbs?
 What are the six Classification of Proverbs?
C. Abstraction Six Categories of Proverbs according to Damiana Eugenio:
1. Proverbs expressing a general attitude towards life and the laws that govern life.
2. Ethical proverbs recommending certain values ad condemning certain virtues.
3. Proverbs expressing a system of values.
4. Proverbs expressing general truths and observations about life and human nature.
5. Humorous proverbs
6. Miscellaneous proverbs
