Semi-Detailed Lesson Plan in Earth and Life Science

( COT 1-MARCH 2021)

Content Standard : The learners demonstrate understanding of : nutrition-getting food to cell, gas exchange with the
environment, circulation-the internal transport system, the need for homeostasis, salt and water balance and waste
removal, the immune system-defense from disease, how hormone govern body activities, the nervous system and
the body in motion.

Performance Standard: The learners should be able to make a presentation of some diseases that are associated
with the various organ system.

Most Essential Learning Competencies :

 Describe the general and unique characteristics of the different organ system in representative
animals. (S11/12LT-IIIaj-20)
 Analyze and appreciate the functional relationships of the different organ systems in ensuring
animal survival. (S11/12LT-IIIaj-21)

I.Objectives:

At the end of the lesson student will be able to:

1. Know the organs of the various organ systems


2. Able to synthesize the various functions of the organ systems in the day today activity of an
individual
3. Used their knowledge about organ system to take care of their body as a human.

II.Subject Matter:

A.Topic: Organ System

B. Materials: Hand outs, mobile phone, Laptop

C. Strategies: Lecture method

III. Learnong Process:

A. Preliminaries:
1. Prayer
2. Greetings
3. Checking of attendance
B. Review:
The teacher will ask the previous lesson ( the process of GMO and its benefits and risks)

C. Motivation:
The teacher will ask the learners to choose one favorite organ in their body and let them explain why
they love that organ. ( 5mins)
D. Lesson Proper:
 Discussion of different types of organ and its system.

1. Activity:
1.1 Pre-Activity Discussions/Reminders:
Before we proceed to our activity, we have rules to be followed:
 Sit properly and find a seat which you are comfortable ( consider students with disability of their
senses specially with those who have sight and hearing problems)
 Avoid using of mobile phones
 Ask questions or clarifications.
1.2 Activity :
 Arrange the jumbled letters to form the right words of different type of organ systems. (3-5mins)

2. Analysis:
 After the activity is completed the teacher will present the different organ system and its
relationship (20mins)
3. Abstraction:
 To check the understanding about their functions the teacher will give the activity on identifying
each body system based upon their functions. ( 5mins)

Generalization:

To check if the learners know the different organs in the body they will identify the different
organs using the model of a human body by labeling them. (10mins)

4. Application:

A video presentation related to importance of water in our body.

Valuing:

Ask the students other ways on how to take care of their own body.

5. Agreement:

The learner will make their own weekly plan on maintaining their body healthy.

IV. Evaluation: Student will be evaluated on their output.
