According to Gagne,
learning is a step by step
process. Each step must
be accomplished before
the next in order for
learning to takes place.
Introduction
Gagne suggested nine events of
instruction to help the teachers and
future teachers to prepare an
orderly presentation of the lesson of
the students . It is very important
that teaching be done properly and
systematically so that it will
become meaningful and effective.
Gain
ATTENTION

Motivation is the first step to


capture the interest of the
students and encourage them
to participate in the overall
discussions.
Allow students to organize
their thoughts and prioritize Inform learners of
their attention regarding what
they are about to learn and do.
OBJECTIVE
Stimulate recall of
Prior LEARNING

The topics to be asked are those


related to the present topic. This is
very important to prepare students
for more complex lessons. This can
help the students to relate the
previous to the current lesson.
Present the
STIMULUS

It show and explai the material you want in


students to learn. Teachers can utilize a variety
of methods including lectures, reading, activity,
projec, multi media and others. There a re so
many ways to present a lesson . Just remember
that the method to be used is suited to the topic
and fits to the ability and interest of the
students.
Provide the learning
GUIDANCE

Provide students with instructions on how to


learn such as, guided activities, common
pitfalls (risks). With learning guidance the
rate of of learning increases because students
are less likely to lose time or become
frustrated by basing performance on incorrect
facts or poorly understand concepts.
Elicit
PERFORMANCE

Teachers should provide practice


opportunities fot the students. It allows
students to apply knowledge and skills
learned. It also encourage students to
apply what are they learning in group or
individual projects and activities, written
assignment and so on.
Provide
FEEDBACK

Providing feedback means


giving students
explanation of what they
are doing correctly and
incorrectly.
ASSESS
PERFORMANCE

It helps students to identify content


areas they have not mastereTeacher
may utilize a variety of assessment
methods including exams, quizes,
projects and so on.

Enhance retention and


TRANFER

Prepare students to apply information


to personal contexts. And it allows
students to reflect on what they
have learned and how they will use
that knowledge or those skill in the
future.
