My research on technology helping speed skating was a success, since it

was possible to know and know more about this sport and in addition to this
as technology has helped to innovate and evolve this sport. In addition to
this, a final project could also be carried out with all past expectations.

First of all, roller speed skating or in-line speed skating is a speed skating
race mode that is done with inline skates. Competitors must make laps on
an oval track in order to reach the goal in the shortest possible time. And
Speed skating on ice: is a competitive form of ice skating in which the
competitors race each other in travelling a certain distance on skates.

In this project it was possible to learn a lot about speed skating, such as
that there are 2 types ice skating and ground skating. Besides that, in this
sport you need a lot of mental and physical strength, since this sport is high
performance. In this sport technology has helped skating to advance
rapidly, but not all the time this sport had this technological boom, because
in the past speed skating does not take up to much technology, which
meant that this sport did not have a sport boom and that athletes could not
perform in a better way.

Now speed skating is divided into ice skating and inline skating, this two
forms of skating are beginning to use technology quickly, because in ice
skating are being able to examine skater´s trajectory, speed as well as
heart rate at all times during the race or trajectory. In inline skating in the
same way as ice skating, are also using new technology, like more

aerodynamic helmets, gloves and clothing that have been created for a
better performance, comfort and a better speed, complementing to this
technology have been able to innovate skates (made up of carbon) so that
athlete does not make too much effort. In speed skating you need wheels
to do it, so here technology is also implemented, because with technology
are able to create more types of wheels, since the wheel depends on the
ground you are and if it is raining or not.

In conclusion the technology has been able to help speed skating increase
very fast and in a good way, since with the help of technology now skaters
can know their physical performance, what they have to improve, how they
can improve, etc.
