Lesson Plan in Science 6

Quarter 4

I. Learning Competency:

Describe the changes of earthquakes and volcanic eruptions.

S6ES-IVa-1
Objective(s):
At the end of the lesson, the learners should be able to:
1. identify the parts of the female reproductive system;
and
2. determine the functions of the parts of the female
reproductive system.

CSE Integrations:
Describe sexual and reproductive system (structure &
functions. KIA1.

II. Content/Topic: The Female Reproductive System

III. Learning Resources:

● CSE Curriculum Guide
● CSE Reader
● CSE-LAC Kit
● Ppt. slide support
● CSE Lesson 4.2
● CSE Video Resources

IV. Procedures:

1
A. Motivation
Ask: What do you know about menstruation?

Note: Learners, at their young age, do not have enough idea

about menstruation. The teacher should explain or give a little
information about it.

Task 1:”Fact or Bluff” (Class Task)

Directions:

1. Read the statement twice.

2. Allow the learners or somebody from the class to
determine whether the statement is fact or myth.
3. The learners will say “fact” if the statement is fact or true
and “bluff” if it is a myth or false.

Say: This is not necessarily a game, so nobody wins nor

loses anything, don’t be shy and give your opinion. Are you
ready?

Sample statements:
1. A woman should take a bath during menstruation period.
(True)
2. A woman should not run or do heavy exercise during
menstruation. (False)
3. If a girl does not have her period at age 14, it isn’t normal.
(False)
4. Menstrual cramps (pananakit ng puson) are a warning
sign of infertility. (False)
5. A woman should consult a doctor/health professional for
an irregular menstruation cycle. (True)

Guide Questions:
1. Who are experiencing menstruation?

Note to the Teacher:

As CSE integration, emphasize to the learners CSE –

2. What organs are responsible for menstruation?

B. Activity

Say: Like the male organ, the female also possesses

reproductive organs which are specialized for the purpose of
producing young.

Task 2: “THINK-PAIR SHARE”

Directions:
a. Each group will be given a manila paper, metacards
and illustration of female reproductive system.
b. Match the metacards to the appropriate parts and
function of the female reproductive system in the
illustration.
c. Prepare for a group presentation.

3
Questions:
a. How many parts does the female reproductive system
have?
b. How did you come up with your answers?

C. Analysis
Answer the following questions below.
a. What are the parts of the female reproductive system?
b. Which part produces the egg cell?
c. How do the other parts work in the female reproductive
system?
d. What is the importance of reproductive system for the
continuity of human species?

D. Abstraction
Say: Reproductive system in humans is responsible in
reproduction for the continuity of species. Like males,
females have different reproductive parts that have
specific structures and functions that enable for
reproduction. The sex cell of female which is an egg cell
are produced by this system. A new individual will be
conceived in the woman’s body if the sperm fertilizes the
egg. Thus, knowing how each organ functions will help
you understand better how female reproductive system
works. (See Annex A for the pictures of the parts to be
illustrated one by one.)

Parts of the female reproductive systems

1. Vagina
- canal that forms the passageway from the uterus
to the outside of the body.
- organ where sperm are deposited
- passage where menstruation flows out
- passage where the baby normally passes during
birth

4
- female organ for sexual intercourse.

2. Cervix
- a muscular ring that conducts the uterus to the
vagina.
- lower portion of the uterus, which extends to the
vagina.

3. Uterus
- a small, hollow, muscular female organ
- it is where the fetus is held and nourished from
the time of implantation until birth.
- It is here where the zygote implants itself and
continues its development into a full term fetus.

4. Fallopian tubes
- the tubes that carry the egg from the ovaries to
the uterus
- the passage way of the mature egg - cell from
the ovary to the uterus.
- this is also where the mature egg cell unites with
the sperm cell.
5. Ovary
- It is the main female reproductive organ.
- two glands that contain thousands of immature
eggs.
- located in the lower part of the body and they
alternately release a matured egg cell every
month.

E. Application:
Task 3:”Just Like It!”
Directions:
a. Post/flash the picture of the school setting on
the board/in the monitor.
b. Distribute the envelope to each group with the
pictures of the parts of the school setting. (See
Annex C.)

2. Plant Boxes
3. Hallway
4. Elevated Tiled Cement
5. Gate
c. Tell each group to identify the parts of the school
setting that may represent the parts of the
female reproductive system.
d. Let each group justify their answers.
e. Let them present their output in a unique way
for 3 minutes each

were the fastest!” – Gabi to Marcus
