Pinoy Pride in Austria joins preselection contest to the

Eurovision Song Contest


National Austrian Television ORF will select from 10 contestants who will represent
Austria to the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 in Stockholm, Sweden. A competition
entitled ‘Wer singt für Österreich?’ (or ‘Who Will Sing For Austria?’) will see ten acts
perform for the Austrian public’s consideration and a jury of experts.The pre-
selection round will be shown live on February 12th at 20:15 CET.

One of the 10 candidates is Pinoy’s proud in Vienna, Vincent Bueno.

The Austrian-Filipino singer won in the ORF program "Musical! The Show!” Vincent
considered this as one of the many highlights of his career. Since then, the musical
stage becomes his home. Recently, he was seen in Musical "Mamma Mia!" at the
Raimund Theater in Vienna. He was also part of the ORF popular reality show
“Dancing with the Stars”. He was part of ABS CBN- A.S.A.P. and also performed
through the provinces.

In the autumn of 2015 he released his own produced German single “Geständnis”
(Confession) on iTunes. He ended his 2015 with Musical Rocks and other corporate
events.

“I was quite surprised when I was asked if I would want to participate at the
Eurovision Song Contest. I want you to be part of the progress at this time towards
the qualifications to the Song Contest . The preselection will be held on the 12th of
February . Please be part of this exciting journey and thank you in advance for all
your support and your votes,” Vincent posted in his website.

Vincent will be performing his own composition “All we need is love”.

Austria has participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 48 times since its debut in
1957. The country has won twice, in 1966, with the song Merci Chérie by Udo
Jürgens, and in 2014, with the song Rise Like a Phoenix by Conchita Wurst. Austria
currently holds the record for longest gap between wins, with forty-eight years
between victories.

Austria have finished last on eight occasions and have received zero points four
times: 1962, 1988, 1991 and last year when the MakeMakes failed to make a lasting
impression on Europe with ‘I Am Yours’.
