00000The movie “A beautiful mind” is about John Nash that is a Mathematics student at Princeton

in 1940s until his Nobel Prize triumph for Economics way back 1994, John Nash experiences a

wide range of highs and lows. Nash was a smart but rather haughty and reclusive individual who

loved to spend his time alone, he admitted it to his friend Charles that he is more good with number

than people, true enough since Nash has a lot of unsuccessful attempts and one of it is when he

attempted to have a conversation with a girl at the local bar but this encounter gives Nash an idea

for his thesis that his been working on which is the work in the concept of governing dynamics, a

theory in mathematical economics. With his ideas, which mostly involved associating

mathematical formula with commonplace events, it led him in teaching on a prestigious school

Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Five years later while teaching a class on Calculus he wrote an interesting problem on the board

that he let his student to answer but only one of his student approaches him to discuss it and it is

Alicia Larde, the two eventually falls in love with each other and get married after. As they became

husband and wife both face a big problem which is Nash having a hallucination, even Nash

himself can’t determine that his roommate Charles is just a hallucination he even so him when he

visited Princeton. Also, Charles introduced his young niece Marcee, he also meets a mysterious

Department of Defense agent, William Parcher. Nash didn’t know that this people are just his

imagination that none of them are real that’s why when his wife Alicia found out about his

condition, she did what she can to cure Nash, Alicia stayed with Nash even though Nash is going

through something and even he did a lot of inappropriate things to her, she stayed and wait for

Nash to heal. As time pass by Nash learned that the three people Charles, Marcee and William

Parcher are just his imagination, he bid his goodbyes to those three and start teaching again.

This movie is such a great movie that can be watch by everyone especially a student like me, I

think the main purpose of this movie is to let students know the important of math in our daily

basis or daily life and to encourage students that it will never be to late for everything that

everything is possible if you have a dream.

The movie “A beautiful mind” is such a wonderful movie, the director did not just a “Great Job”

with this movie, the movie itself is really touching. I think the director’s goal in here is to aim

people’s heart and mind at the same time which he able to do. The actors and actresses play

their roles well and their characters fitted to them. When it comes to production it is also good and

good is not enough to describe it although this movie is way back 2002 the cinematography is
excellent. Moreover, this movie is for everyone, it can be watched by anyone who wants to watch

it since it is a great movie with such a great story tell and moral to take an away.

If there is one thing, I learned from this movie it is “Everything/Anything is possible even in the

most difficult time” John Nash thought me that nothing is impossible because if you really want

something and you’re aiming for it then you will get it especially if you’re hardworking type of

person. Aside from morals I also notice some math problems which is the one that he writes on

the board which he dares his students to solve it, which is a Vector Calculus, also the Nash

Equilibrium.

A beautiful mind this movie is really a heart touching movie, but you’ll learn a lot at the same time

not just in morals but also in math’s, I really enjoy watching this movie and if I will be given a

chance to watch this again, I will surely watch it. The strength of this movie is that motivating

others that anything is possible even the most impossible things can surely happen. The

weakness of it is the mere fact that Nash still believes that those three people that he met is not

part of his hallucination.
