PERSONAL STATEMENT

I would describe myself as an active, energetic, ambitious, hardworking and punctual person who prefers
continuous learning to expand one’s skillset and develop future opportunities.

I am writing to express my interest in the Healthcare Assistant position in your company. I am confident
that I have the skills and qualifications that you are looking for, and I feel that I can contribute positively to
this role. Although, I have a little work experience in this field, I believe success requires passion and
dedication.  

It is obvious that passion motivates people to choose careers and I am one of them. Teaching is my
childhood love but I decided to work as a healthcare assistant as I truly love to care for others whether it’s
my family, friends or colleagues. I realized that there is no better way to do this than by working in the
health care profession. I am always ready to help the people around me and this is why I am comfortable
working with people of all ages and backgrounds. I am capable of working independently however I enjoy
being a part of a team as I can collaborate and coordinate well.

I started my career in 2016 as a primary teacher teaching basic subjects including English, Math, Science,
Social Studies and PSHE (Personal, Social, Health and Emotional Education). The deep insight of PSHE
elevated my interest to work for the personal and social development of people.  I completed many
professional courses during my teaching tenure that helped me a lot to understand the importance of
mental health and wellbeing. Moreover, completion of the certificate in Healthcare and well-being assisted
me to gain knowledge and strengthen attitudes and practice skills needed to adopt and maintain healthy
behaviors throughout the lives of people in society.

I now possess the skills and qualities that are required for a competent Healthcare Assistant. I can identify
the needs of a client, remain calm and act with integrity at all times, make difficult and challenging
decisions and also improve the lives of those who are in my care. I always want to work for an
organization that believes in values and care standards. I strictly follow the rules and procedures devised
by the organization. I work calmly whilst under pressure and always put the needs of my patient/client
above everything else.

My most recent position is at the Patni Hospital, one of the best healthcare service providers in Karachi
where I work as a volunteer care assistant. My duties there include assisting patients with routine tasks
such as bathing, dressing, eating and taking medications. I keep a record of their daily activities and
maintain a personal file system for medical reference. I also deal with patients having mental disorders
such as autism, dementia, depression etc. I can create and implement intervention plans to help autistic
children with progress toward living a normal and fully functional life. My experience to date has helped me
understand the unique challenges faced by patients with mental disorders. I know the importance of
providing each client with special care and attention. I interact with them and communicate their needs to
the medical staff. For this, I have been appreciated by my staff on several occasions due to my ability to
work well and my dedication to the job.

I am excited about this opening because I want to further enhance my skills and practices and contribute
helping people as much as I can.

HealthCare Assistant Volunteer – Patni Hospital Karachi, Pakistan


October 2022 – Current

 Responsible for administering recommended medication to the patients and record vital signs such
as blood pressure and temperature.
 Focus on personal hygiene, mental stimulation, and the overall wellbeing of patients.
 Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned area.
 Assist nurses in personal care tasks such as help patients to bathe, dress and eat meals.
 Support healthcare staff by communicating patients’ conditions and needs to optimize treatment
planning and care delivery.
 Maintain and organize patients’ personal files by documenting observations thoroughly making it
easier for medical professionals to access information.
