In Philippine Law the election happens every 6 years where we had a chance to choose whoever we
think would be the right one to govern our country. The 2016 election has given us a new President. Will
Changes happen? Would this be the long awaited solution with poverty and crimes? Of course a lot of us
will want the answer “YES” in this questions. So why don’t we get to know our President.

Rodrigo Roa Duterte also known as Digong, is the new elected president of the Philippines. Born on
March 28, 1945 in Maasin Leyte and the son of former Governor of Davao Vicente Duterte and Soledad
Roa former teacher and civic leader. He was the first President that is from Mindanao.

Former President Duterte was known as the protracted mayor of Davao where he serve for 22 years. He
was also tagged as “The Punisher” by the Time Magazine because he lead the city with iron hand to
rigorously implement his campaign against drugs and theft. So from then on, Davao City was tagged as
the “murder capital” of the country under his leadership. Him winning the Presidential Election was a
breath of fresh air for Davao. At present the place has maintained peaceful environment for the people,
it is now known not just in the country but also in the nearby country of Southeast Asia as the “most
peaceful city”.

Having witnessed his leadership in Davao, a lot of Filipino believed/ hope that “change is coming”,
because there would be a big possibilities that our Government will truly change under the reign of
Former President Duterte. Even though he was no seated or inaugurated yet as the president, a lot of
criminals involving drugs surrendered to him, with this we can truly say that crime and criminals in our
country will lessen.

All of us wanted a leader who is ready to do all his might for his people and sovereignty, we also hope
that our country will change for the better. Thats why our leader should know how to sacrifice and care
for the people and the country.
 Chemicals in Cat’s Urine, Resistance for Rats
In line with the new discovery of some scientists, there is a chemical in lion’s urine and other
carnivore that makes rat scared when smell they it.
The researchers started to analyze some special olfactory receptors that was discovered way back
2001that was called trace amine-associated receptors (TAARs). This receptors was usually seen
in vertebrates. For example Mice has 15 of this, rats has 17, and a person has only 6. But it is not
yet determine what kinds of chemicals are combine with it.
They discover that one of the family of the receptor that is called TAAR4, is strongly driven by
bobcat’s urine, which was being sold as remedy for rats and rabbits that destroy plants. With
accordance to this, they identified the chemicals that can strengthen the receptors. It is the
chemical that’s called 2-phenylethylamine.
