The World with its Moon

Back when the beautiful place Punjab located in the northern part of India, there was this lovely
maiden named Advika. She lives at the farthest extent of the said province. She lives with her
delightful and loving mother, Binita. Ever since, Advika was born Binita used to take care of her
beautiful daughter. Back when the times where Binita couldn’t have child because of some
complication in her uterus which she was told by their Chikitsak after consulting about her
condition. Binita suffered a depression upon knowing the result about her being unable to bear a
child. Years passed, Advika’s father was reported that he got shot by unknown men in the
nearest town at their place. Binita even suffered worse that she lost someone important to her.
Despite what happened, despite Binita being inches away to giving up. One day morning, she
suddenly felt something in her body. She felt like she was carrying something. She quickly to her
step towards their small kitchen space and checked herself up. Jumping out of joy, tearing up and
couldn’t believe what she found out. Binita was pregnant. After knowing about her future child,
Binita was back to herself and did her best to take care of her future child. She calls it a blessing
and a gift from Brahma. Times fly so fast, Binita was close to delivering her daughter already.
To mention, one previous night, Binita had a dream about Bruhma telling her how good she was
back then that she may had lost someone she loves the most, there’s this beautiful child she
would take care of for the rest of her life. Binita was a kindhearted being and only knows how to
help and give. She always believes in the principle of being good and how people shall not
commit crimes or any immoral things. After having that dream, Binita then becomes more
careful with her actions and how she assures to let good things only win over evilness. She never
caused pain to others, physically nor mentally. Any violence has never done by her.

One fine morning, Advika asked permission from her mother to let her go to the nearby town in
their place to meet people and befriend them. Binita got worried a little but she then let her
daughter to go.

“Just take care of yourself, mere betee.”.

“You can trust me, maan.”

She then gave her mother a kiss before leaving. Binita watched her daughter taking step up the
hill, smiling and admiring the beauty of her one and only daughter.

Advika is now at the town and suddenly a tall and fine looking man caught her attention. Advika
has stared him a little, not noticing the man noticed her sudden gaze upon him. Advika got back
to herself and quickly took her gaze off the man.
“Chandran.” Uttered by the man while offering his one broad hand to Advika indicating for a
shake hands.

Advika didn’t hesitate to give her hand and “Advika” smiled.

Months later, Advika and Chandran grew much closer to each other as they notice that they are
now falling for each other. Binita already knows what’s going on between her daughter and
Chandran. At first; just like the protective mothers, Binita being a protective mother herself, got
worried for her daughter especially what heartbreaks can cause to her daughter if the time will
come to break them. But, Binita being a soft hearted person, he trusted Chandran quickly.

They spend being together like a happy family in the small house where Binita and Advika live,
not choosing to leave that place for it has all the memories of her late husband and father of
Advika. Chandran always spends his time helping Advika’s mother with the farm, and even with
some of the house chores they regularly do. Binita was delighted how lucky she is to have such a
good life now after all what she has gone through back then. Binita never had time where she
doesn’t express her gratitude to almighty Bruhma. But she didn’t know how another problem is
about to approach to challenge her again.

One evening, in the middle of their dinner, Chandran was there and suddenly he felt sick and he
zoned out in front of Binita and Advika which made them to worry a lot. Binita quickly
approached her sick daughter’s companion and Advika was there almost tearing up but she
helped her mother to bring Chandran to the nearest Chikitsa. But it was so sudden it was already
late. Chandran lost his life. Advika couldn’t stop crying while embracing her mother, Binita who
was also crying too for she already loves Chandran too like her son. Binita got worried that her
daughter might also feel the same she had felt before. Binita then assured to check her daughter
more and to take care of her more. Advika spent her time always locked up in her room, not even
uttering a single word. She really longs for her late love one’s presence, wishing it was all just a
dream and hoping Chandran to come back. She reminisced all the good memories she had with
Chandran and starts crying every time it crosses her mind. A phrase that always plays in her
mind that makes her to miss Chandran even more.

“Where the world used to be ugly, you are the beautiful one.”

There was no day, Advika tearing up in her room longing for Chandran’s presence. Binita never
failed to be there for her longing daughter. She never left her daughter’s side.

Months had approached, Advika finally went out of her room and she wanted to go to the nearby
town and to visit the places where she used to spend her time with Chandran.

“Are you sure, betee?” asked, Binita.

“Yes, I’ll be back soon.” Advika then headed her way off the places she badly wanted to visit.

While approaching the way up to the peaceful peak of the hill she used to visit with Chandran, a
figure of a tall man she noticed standing at the same spot where Chandran used to be at.

“Chandran?” a longing voice uttered by her.

Seemed not heard by the man, she then decided to approach him quick and hugged the man right
away.

Surprising her, he almost looks like Chandran which made her to tear up more.

“Why are you crying, beautiful lady?” finally uttered by the man looking like Chandran.

“Chandran.”

“Chandran?”

“You are Chandran. This is me, Advika.”

“Advika?”

“Yes” still crying.

“I used to meet Advika before, a beautiful woman I once wished to have and be with for the rest
of my life.”

A tight and longing hug approached the man again from Advika, followed by a warm kiss from
the longing lady.

“I missed you.”

“I know you would come back for me.”

“The world is ugly, but Advika is a world, and the only beautiful world existed.”

“The world is nothing without its companion that gives light to it, Chandran, my moon.”

With the sweet breeze drifting from the peak of the hill with the sweet scent of young tender
looking grass and the birds chirping in joy and butterflies approaching every vivid flowers
around, witnessed the perpetual love the world and the moon has.
