Electrical Network Transfer Functions
◼ Steps in finding the transfer function of an
electrical network
1. Transform the circuit from the time domain to
the s-domain by:
(a) Replacing all time variables such as v(t), i(t),
and vc(t) with their Laplace transforms.
(b) Replacing the component values with their
impedance values.

Electrical Network Transfer Functions

◼ Steps in finding the transfer function of an
electrical network
2. Determine the output in terms of the input
using nodal analysis, mesh analysis, source
transformation, superposition, or any circuit
analysis technique.
3. Form the transfer function.
