Part II.
Solve for each problem. 3 pts each. Use the back page as your answer sheet.

31-33 A soccer ball slows down from 30.6 m/s, west to 11 m/s, west during a 2.75 second period. Find its average velocity?
What is its average acceleration?
34-36 Find the displacement of a car that is constantly accelerating at 165 m/s², east if it has an initial velocity of 90 km/h,
West and accelerates for 0.0410 seconds.
37-39 Find the slope of a moving object if from t=0 sec. to t=5 sec. it travels from d=0 m to d=45 m and moves from t=5 sec.
To t=10 sec. to d=45 m to d=45 m then from d=45 m to d=85 m from t=10 sec plus 15 sec.
40-42 Find an objects momentum if its weight is 3000 kg and moving west at an initial velocity of 3 m/s to 5 m/s for 10
seconds.
43-45 An athlete throws a javelin with a weight of 15 kg and a momentum of 10 kg-m/s, what would be its velocity?

46-48 Two skaters are standing in front of each other, they push each other off and travel from opposite direction, Skater 1,
(Sk1) with a velocity of -2.3 m/s. If Sk1 weighs 900 N and skater 2 (Sk2) weighs 850 N, what is Sk2’s velocity after pushing?

49-50 A car weighing 4.0 x 10³ g is travelling west on a straight road when suddenly it loses its break and collides with a
stationary motorcycle weighing 2.0 x 10² g, what would be the velocity of the combined vehicles after collision and what
would be its direction?

Solve for each problem. 2 pts each. Use the back page as your answer sheet.

51-52 The potential energy of a 5 kg object on top of a hill is 35 J, what would be its velocity in m/s just before it hits the
bottom of the hill?

53-54 An object was dropped from a building and reaches the ground after 5 seconds, its weight is 50 kg. What would be
Its gravitational potential energy? What is its kinetic energy after 3 seconds?

55-56 From the problem in numbers 53-55, compute for the total mechanical energy. What would be the distance of
the object from the point of release after 3 seconds? After 4 seconds, what would be the distance of the object
from the landing point?

57-58 If a 200 J of energy is added to a system and does a 50 J of work, by how much will the thermal energy be raised?
If added with another 100 J of heat, what is the change in the internal energy?

59-60 What is the efficiency of a system if it receives a 250 J of energy from combustion and loose 325 J by heat to exhaust
during one cycle? If it is a steam engine and receives 700 K and exhaust 400 K to its condenser, what is its maximum
efficiency?

Good luck!
