1. Briefly comment on Aristotle's image of Science.

Ans: Aristotle defined scientific knowledge, and episteme in subjective-physiological terms. It was
also named Scientia by the Romans. According to Aristotle, scientific knowledge is superior to
everyday knowledge and it also gives access to truth. Like other forms of intellectual knowledge,
Science is also regarded as a state by which the soul possesses truths of a definite, superior kind.
Moreover, it is also defined as heksis. It is an aptitude, that can be acquired and also include mental
habits. In simple words, it is character and needs to develop.

2. What is the difference between Doctrine and Discipline? Comment in the light of
your area of Study (Computer Science).
Ans:
Doctrine is a concept or belief taught by Church, any political party, or any other group. Discipline is a
practice of training people to follow rules to learn something and also by punishing people to correct
disobedience. In Science Doctrine means Teaching and Discipline mean to learn to teach or learn to
obey. For example, Computer Science is a Doctrine and the discipline of Computer Science is a way of
learning that includes the study of algorithms and data structures, computer and network design,
modeling data and information processes, and artificial intelligence.

3. What is meant by System? Why it is required in the "new" image of Science?

Ans: System is the dominant, though certainly not uncontested, cultural form of philosophy as long as
Science is not demarcated from it, from the early 17th to late 19th century. The conception of the System
is of theologian origin, it emerged in the protestant theology of the late 16th century out of its insistence
upon the unitary and self-explanatory sense of the Bible itself. To demarcate the role of different fields
we need to create a System in a "new" image of Science So that every field can succeed within its
limits without damaging other fields.

4. Briefly comment on the role of the Scientific method in "new" Science.

Ans: The idea of the system as discussed in the above question make sure that the scientific method is
not only able to produce isolated and particular certainties but a coherent, integral, and self-sustainable
knowledge of the world. This knowledge of the world is capable of answering all meaningful questions
about nature as a mere object. That's why; we can say that the scientific method plays crucial role in
"new" Science.
