WHAT MUST BANISIL NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL DO TO BE AT PART WITH THE BEST
SCHOOL IN THE CITY?

School plays a huge role in molding individuals’ lives. It is where we can express, show
our true selves. School is where we can find camaraderie, hope and purpose in life. And in
school is where most of our time spent. Every school has different ways on how to deal with
their students. Different program, but came up with same result which aims to develop and give
quality education to the students.
Banisil National High school, one of the public schools here in General Santos, city,
Philippines, also shared the same goal as what the Department of Education stated. Banisil has
already imposed different program to help enhance talents of their students. However, there will
still be an activities/program that will put Banisil National High School to be part of the best
school in the city, and here are the following:

 Banisil National High School must offer program like SPS or the Special Program in
Sports. As I have noticed, many students are talented and skillful in their preferable
sports. But, the school does not offer SPS where there were trainer, coaches that will
help them improve their skills and to bring them higher sports competitions like Palarong
Pambansa or any national league. In this manner, students will be master and
knowledgeable in their field.

 Banisil National High School must be given the students opportunity to express
themselves in different academic activities. Just like school clubs, art, cultural dance,
computer and technology, robotics, theatre/drama, debate/speech, environmental,
songs, and any activities that is related to academics. In this way, learning will not be
boring since they will learn according to how they would like to learn. I believe in multiple
intelligences, where students will learn best if they learn things depending on their
preferences. In this way, we can develop camaraderie, companionship, collaboration,
cooperation between students to students, and students to teachers. It will also help to
enhance communication skills, since it will do a lot of talking, communication with other
students. It will also make learning easier since it will catch their attention and interest.

 Banisil High school should also expose students to Information and Communication
Technology (ICT). We all know that we are now in the 21 st century, so it is compulsory
that we make the students information and computer literate, in that way, students will
not be easily fool, deceive to any human that brings harm using internet. It is also
important that students are knowledgeable in utilizing computer since many works now
happen in it.
  Banisil National High School must also promote, “Clean and Green” campaign which
aims to protect and care the environment. Encourage the students to bring their own
water bottle, their own plastic container if they wish to buy a food to the canteen, and
also no plastics are allowed inside the school campus. In this way, we could help
maintain the cleanliness of the school ground and also we can lessen the garbage inside
the campus. Furthermore, it will teach the students to be environmental sensitive not just
in school but also to their respective communities.

 Banisil National High School should strictly enforce the Republic act no. 10627 otherwise
known as, “Anti-Bullying Act of 2013”. In school, we cannot deny the fact that there were
students like to bully other students. The school should always reiterate the importance
or what are the things that considered as bullying. And if bullying happened, school must
do actions immediately, punishing the bullies accordingly, so that they will know that the
school will not allow bullies inside the campus. In that manner, students can feel
secured, safe, since they know they are protected by the authorities. And school can
create conducive environments for the students to learn.

 Banisil National High School must also inculcate to the students how important the word,
“respect” is. Not just respect to their teachers but also to their fellow
schoolmates/classmates. Respecting the diversity of one another. Accepting that
everyone has different opinions, beliefs, cultures and norms. Respecting and accepting
that every student is different from one another. Put in mind that respect does not come
naturally, it is something that the person learns. The school must create
activities/programs that will teach students how to respect one another. With this, we can
create camaraderie, peace, and intimate relationship with the other individuals.

To put it in a nutshell, if Banisil National High School will impose the latter that I suggested,
we can ensure that it will help the school ranks as the best schools in the neighborhood.
However, these all will be succeed if the schools and the students will cooperate to make Banisil
National High School conducive for learning.
