As researchers, we would have to inquire permission or consent from the child’s parents or guardians
before any gathering procedure. The study is not mandatory thus participation is upon the choice of
the parent’s respondent. We would also likely have to ask consent of the head of the COVID-19
response team in the target hospital regarding provision of information disclosed to COVID-19
detection. The expected benefits for the participant/ study subject is that the children within the age
group of 18 years and below will be able to know signs and symptoms they need to notify their
parents or guardians if not, the parents or guardians themselves could identify it immediately. This
study will also help parents or guardians to be at alert of what to watch out for especially in children
that cannot express themselves well. In addition, this will help medical practitioners also know/have
more ways on how to effectively detect covid-19 in this age group. The study will also help the
participant know steps to take or things to do to keep them healthy. The risk to be expected by
children in this age group is fear on how would they react to the assessment procedure they will be
undergoing. If any of the stated signs or symptoms occurs, some might be scared with the thought of
dying or going through medical procedures and treatment. In addition, the fear of not seeing their
friends and family might occur to them and affect their mental wellbeing if placed into isolation.
