What did or didn't you do in your childhood house?

CAN DO Competences: negative forms of the Past Simple and affirmative sentences with
regular verbs in the past.
ACTIVITY: Animated Audio Role-play.

Teacher: Welcome to this class, called "I didn't do that, dad!" In our previous lesson, we
practiced how to use the verb "to be," in the past:"was/wasn’t" and "were/weren’t," with
questions and answers. In this class, we will practice how to ask and answer about actions,
with action verbs in the past, with the auxiliary verb "did/didn't." Before starting, make
sure you check this lesson’s worksheets: a vocabulary one and a gap filler one, for you to
do it at the end.

What did or didn't do in your childhood house?

Let's listen to a conversation between a father and his two children. Make sure to pay
attention and take notes about what they did or didn’t do in their childhood house.

Carlos (dad): - Juan! –

Juan: - Yes, dad… -


Carlos: (gapped sentence: ______ you break your mom's porcelain? (5 seconds)

Carlos: - Good. And, did you bake the bread cake in the oven with mom? – (image of an

Julián: - Yes, we did. We baked together, and it is in the kitchen, for all of us to have it as a
dessert –

Carlos: - Did you go to sleep late last night, right before I came back home? –

Julián: - No, dad, we didn't go to sleep late. We went to sleep early. You can ask mom. –
