RESEARCH METHODOLOGY

This chapter contains method of research population sample size and sampling
technique description of respondents of research instrument data gathering procedure and
the statical treatment of data used to conduct in this study

Methods of Research

The data are gathered using a descriptive-quantitative research technique. data required
for this investigation. Researchers were able to use this technique to analyze the data and
hypotheses in terms of their theoretical significance, for additional research. This regression
design is being utilized to gather and examine data. Behavior is identified via a deseriptire
approach, and correlational assesses whether there is a connection or correlation between two
or more more variables and assesses if one variable has an impact on the others. These kinds
of approach assesses the connection between the two variables and enables the researchers
can get data from insects without the use of Any respondents having issues providing the
necessary information for the Researchers to have information regarding of Effects of
Cyberbullying in Academic Perfromance of Grade 12 students of Stand Alone Senior Highs
School.

PROCEDURE
The researchers used percentage to explain information as a proportion of thewhole.
Percentages are calculated by taking the number of the subcategory and dividingby the total
number in the population.

Therefore; n = 1125 /1 + 1125 (0.05 x0.05) = 1125 /1 +1125 (0.0025) = which is

approximately 295 Students. This is summarized in the table below;

Description of the Respondents

The respondents were the Grade 12 students of Stand Alone Senior High School
within Taguig Integrated School who are officially enrolled during the first semester of
School Year 2022-2023. There are four sections from HUMSS (Humanities and Social
Sciences) Strand, two sections from the GAS (General Academics) Strand, one section from
STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) Strand, one section from EIM
(Electrical Installation and Maintenance) Strand and two sections from ICT (Information and
Computer Technology) Strand. The researchers chose them as respondents as they have
greater exposure and knowledge and in bringing out the best responses for the quantitative
study and its implications.

Resesarch Instrument

The instrument in data gathering in this research is survey questionnaires. Thesurvey

questionnaires answer the problems for this research. The questionnaires will bethe one that
the researchers will use to measure the effects and possible solution orprevention in Cyber
bullying Among the negative impact of the widely spread use of the internet is the act of
violence in social media, known as cyberbullying. Cyberbullying is when someone
repeatedly harasses, mistreats, or makes fun of another person online or while using cell

above all since many of them embraced social networking sites to meet both their personal
and relational needs. This study aim to examine the prevalence of bullying in the cyber world
among the adolescence. The research method used in this research is quantitative method.
While the data for this study were obtained by using a self-report questionnaire. Samples
were selected using multistage cluster random sampling method. We found that the
prevalence of cyberbully smaller than cyber victims. The results of this study are expected to
provide an accurate picture of the incidence of cyberbullying that henceforth be known
means of prevention and treatment of cyberbullying.

Data Gathering Procedure

The data for this research were collected using a survey questionnaire. The survey
was created using suitable questions modified from related research and individual
questions formed by the researcher. The survey was composed of 10questions,
which were related to the participant’s perception regarding the effects and prevention of
cyber bullying. After we collect all the survey questionnaires from the 50students, the data
will be analyzed by the researchers to know the students’ opinions of Stand Alone Senior
High School in the effects of cyber bullying in grade 12 student .in this study, according to
the explanation above, the data that has been collected from the questionnaire will then be
measured on a scale of 1 to 4, with the following categories:

1.Yes=4

2Often=3

3.Sometimes=2

4.No=1

Sample and Population

Description of the Respondent The respondents were the Grade 12 students of Stand Alone
Senior High School within Taguig Integrated School who are officially enrolled during the
first semester of School Year 2022-2023. There are two sections from HUMSS (Humanities
and Social Sciences) Strand, two sections from the GAS (General Academics) Strand. The
researchers chose them as respondents as they have greater exposure and knowledge and in
bringing out the best responses for the quantitative study and its implications. Sample and
Population The population of the study is Grade 12 students in a stand-alone senior high
school within Taguig Integrated School. The universe of the study consists of students in the
age group of 16–25 years old. A total of 290 respondents were selected for the present study.
A simple random sampling technique was adopted to choose the student samples due to the
unknown population of the study. After preparing a sampling frame, students were taken
randomly through a simple random sampling technique for the collection of the data.
