Human transformation is an internal shift that brings us in alignment with our highest
potential. It is at the heart of every major aspect of our lives. It affects how we see and
relate to the world, and how we understand our place in it. The path includes a wide
range of transformative experiences that support the whole person. It means prioritizing
and consciously developing physical well-being, mental fitness, emotional health,
and cognitive agility. Human transformation provides a clear path for each individual to
live up to their full potential and to live their lives with greater purpose, clarity, and
passion.
2. PAGKAMAKA-DIYOS
• The first phrases of the Preamble of the 1987 Philippine Constitution, “We,   the
sovereign   Filipino  people,  imploring  the  aid  of  Almighty  God”,embodies the first of
the four different core values being promoted the value of being Maka-Diyos. It literally
means “being for God” and is articulated in the faith in the Supreme Being. This value
infers the adherence of the people to ethical principles by upholding truth, and our
reverent awe of the holiness and  honor  of  the  Almighty,  as  a  being  of  great glory,
majesty, purity, and power.
• Through   being  Maka-Diyos,   we   acknowledge   God’s   intentions produced  by  His
words   and   makes   people   of   the   country sympathetic to
wisdom   and  knowledge.   It   is   not   only   "fear"   of  His   power   and  righteous
retribution, but as followers of the Almighty, we want to do everything we can,
from  what   we say to  the way  we   live, to  make  sure that  we  develop an
attitude of respect, a response of reverence and wonder to Him. Moreover,
bearing this value makes us humbler, greatness in our hearts, responsible in
our actions which is a key element for change. It helps us have a proper
perspective   of   ourselves  in   relation  to  our Almighty;   and   motivates  us   to
follow and accept His good intentions, to guide us along while living above
the Earth.
Here are some examples:
 Paticipate actively in school-organized religious group.
 Recite a prayer seriously and passionately when obligated to lead.
 Observes silence when inside religious places.
 Maintains proper decorum while in a scared activity.
 Respecting religious symbols and not using it in vain.
 Researching and listening to other religious perspective.
 Express and engage in personal spiritual beliefs.
 Living in peace and harmony regardless of diversity of culture and beliefs.
3. PAGKA-MAKATAO
• Being  Maka-tao  or   “for the people” is part  of   the   four   core   values
promoted in the national motto of the Philippines which was derived from the
last four lines of the Pledge of Allegiance to the Philippine Flag. It molds the
people’s   empathy   and   compassion   by   simply   means   of   respecting   each
other’s rights, opinions,   and  territory amidst differences. Furthermore,   this
value implies  that  the Filipino   people should  be the instrument for  nation
building through sensitivity  to individual, social,  and  cultural differences;
demonstrating contributions toward solidarity; and to make a great impact to
the world.
• The strength of nation building is to develop unselfish caring, empathic
sensitivity, compassion, and ethical responsibility of its individual members.
As people mature, their heart eventually develops levels of love and good will
even for strangers, and eventually encompasses all living beings. Through
this, the psyche of the humanity transforms, thus making fear, selfishness,
brutalness, suffering, and neglecting of others become values that are rather
ethically responsible such as empathy and compassion. These simple things
from humanity will become the foundation from which the edifice of a stable
society or local, national, and global community.
Here are some examples:
• Engage in team- building activities in worships
• Exert outmost effort and contribute whole- heartedly for the development of the task.
•Offer relevant suggestions, respect ideas of others
4. PAGKAMAKA-BAYAN
• It is the act of showing my love and support for the country. I show patriotism by following
the laws implemented by the government like not jaywalking and crossing the street in the
right area. Also by patronizing or choosing local goods like for food I like halo-halo as dessert
instead of ice cream at times. As well as by exercising my right to vote since I have registered
for voting and plan on voting for the elections next year. One last example is that I strive to
become a better person and example for the people around me by doing good deeds and
doing what is expected of me to become a better student or person.
Here are some examples:
• Improved the positive outlook towards work to increase productivity and lead to a peaceful
country.
• Increase each individual’s ability to cope in fast changing world.
• Increase the importance of the arts, music, sports, dance and other aspects of Philippine
culture.
• Develop nationalism among the Filipinos and increase individual responsibility as a citizen.
5. PAGKAMAKA-KALIKASAN
• Maka-kalikasan, also known as “for the environment”, is the last of the
four core values promoted in Philippine national motto. It infers that it is also
the responsibility of a Filipino citizen to care for  the  environment may that
be  terrestrial,  aquatic,  fluvial,  and  aerial  territory  of  the  Philippines; and to
utilize these resources wisely, judiciously, and economically. Moreover, it is
also   the   people’s   duty   to   act   for   the   major   environmental   issues   in   the
Philippines,   including   climate   change,   decline   of   natural   resources   and
biodiversity, waste problem, and the society’s behavior towards waste.
• As   the   population   rises   rapidly   in   the   Philippines,   environmental
challenges also are rapidly undertaking which directly impacts the country’s
economy and development. The citizens and the government should work
together   to   become   more   environmentally   resilient   and   cope   with   these
numerous  environmental  challenges;  and  for  the  Philippines  to  become  a
more  stable  and  prosperous   nation.   Furthermore,   these   biodiversity
resources make up almost 10% of the country’s GDP and account for almost
30%  of  employment.  These  are  just  manifestations  that  the  environment
accounts a big role to play in the development of our economy, as well as our
country as a whole.
Here are some examples:
• Obey, local, national, and international environmental laws and policies.
•Turn off electric appliances when not in use.
• Use reausable containers and avoid using single use plastics.
•Do not waste foods and make compost for organic waste.
•Plant trees, fruits, vegetables, and herbs in your backyard.
•Conserve water and energy at all times.
