Ans.3:- A fire can break out at home due to the following reasons:
1. Electrical faults may lead to fires.
2. Careless handling of matchsticks, firecrackers, candles or diyas may lead to
fire.
3. Gas leaks or accidents while cooking are one of the common causes of fire.
Ans.4:- The substance which can burn, and give light and energy is called fuel.
Ans.5:- A fire can start and continue to burn only when the following three
conditions are present:
1. The presence of a substance that will burn. Such a substance is called a fuel.
2. Plenty of oxygen.
3. The fuel can only burn if the temperature is sufficiently high.
Ans.6:- Fire caused due to electrical faults, water should never be used as it can
cause electrical shocks.
Ans.7:- First-Aid is the immediate help or attention given to an injured person
before proper medical help arrives.
The following first aid should be administered in case of a fracture: -
1. Do not move the fractured part.
2. Use a splint or cloth-sling to support the broken limb.
3. Wrap up the area with a crepe bandage, if possible.
4. Call for a doctor.
Ans.8:- The following aid should be administered for nosebleeds:-
1. In case of a nosebleed make the victim sit down and lean forward.
2. Using your thumb and index finger squeeze the soft part of the nose. This
part in between the end of the nose and the bridge of the nose.
3. Continue holding till bleeding stops.
4. If the bleeding continues, hold for another 10 minutes.
5. Place an ice pack on the bridge of the nose.
