did you think Kipling’s advice to his son is very difficult to attain the
present time, justify?
The poet advises his son to risk all life's winnings for one more winning without
the slightest fear of loss, and be ready to start again after incurring the loss without
complaining or blaming. The poet advises the son to hold on against the most
agonizing ordeals. He should persevere, always being optimistic. He should keep
talking with the crowds but maintain his virtue. He can walk with kings but
shouldn't lose the common touch. Neither his friends nor his enemies should be
able to hurt him. In Values in Life by Rudyard Kipling we have the theme
of greed, honesty, conflict and acceptance. Taken from his A Book of Words
collection the reader realizes after reading the speech that Kipling may be
exploring the theme of greed.
