A good parent can be characterized in many ways, depending on who you ask.

I believe

that the most important aspects of good parenting are providing a stable household, being a role

model, and giving them the opportunity to experience new things. No matter who you are, or

where you are, the most important thing to do for your child is to keep them safe.

The first thing that I believe makes a good parent is providing a stable household. If you

want to create a child who is going to grow up to be a decent person as well, they will need a

safe space to be loved and appreciated. A stable household will lead to a child with less anxiety

and a sense of security. There are many different aspects to a stable household. A stable

household involves a safe environment for the child, which means having a consistent place of

living. If a child is being moved around from house to house, it could confuse them, especially if

they are also moving schools too. This could result in them never being able to create valuable

bonds with their peers. An inconsistent household can also lead a child to develop behavioral

problems, academic problems and social problems. A stable household also involves taking care

of your child, and giving them love and attention. I believe that bonding with your child creates a

healthy one. Making sure that your child feels that they are loved, valued and seen goes a long

way in building a strong sense of self in them.

Another important aspect of good parenting is to be a role model to your child. When you

are growing up, you most likely look up to someone to learn from. This is usually a parent or

another member of your family. From the moment that you are born, you learn from observing

others behavior and imitating those actions. If a child sees something that their parent is doing,

they most likely want to replicate that behavior because they look up to them as a mentor.

Making sure that you are behaving in a way that you would want your child to replicate is

important in how they grow up, and develop their own personalities and lives. Having someone
to look up to provides a child with a way to properly act, and go about their life. Being a good

role model includes offering them guidance, support and encouragement to be the best they can

be. Good role models are also essential for teaching children from right and wrong, creating

meaningful relationships with other people and how to become a responsible adult in the future.

The last key aspect I believe makes a good parent is giving your child the opportunity to

experience new things. I remember being super shy as a kid, and never wanting to try new

things. My mom made sure to draw me out of my shell, and I thank her for that because it has led

me to meet some great people, and create amazing memories. Giving a child the opportunity to

try new things is crucial in how their brains develop. It could be helpful in teaching your child to

make new friends, expanding their minds to learn, and being independent. Whether this is letting

them explore when they are toddlers, or involving them in sports or activities when they’re older.

This also gives your child a sense of importance and belonging, which is essential for future

social relationships.

Parenting is probably one of the most difficult jobs that there is, but it is your job to

create a healthy child. No matter how old your child is, your work is never done. It is important

to provide a stable household, be a role model to your child, and give them the opportunity to

experience new things!
