QUADRILATERALS

Quadrilateral is a figure with four sides and four vertices.

Trapezium Parallelogram
A pair of opposite Opposite sides are
sides are parallel parallel

Rectangle
Parallelogram
with an angle of
90 degrees

Rhombus
Square Quadrilateral with
Rectangle with equal sides
equal sides
Quadrilaterals are named by listing their vertices in order.

Any two sides, vertices, or angles of a quadrilateral are either

consecutive or nonconsecutive.

Segments that join nonconsecutive vertices of a quadrilateral are called

diagonals.

The sum of the measures of the angles of a quadrilateral is 360 degrees

Parallelograms

Diagonals of a parallelogram bisect each other.

A diagonal of a parallelogram separates it int two congruent triangles.

Trapezoids

The median of a trapezoid is parallel to the bases, and the length of the
median equals one-half the sum of the lengths of the bases.

Each pair of base angles in an isosceles trapezoid is congruent.
