● Use correct tool/ machine for the job

● Proper ventilation keeps you healthy


● Good safety practice protects everyone
● Do not remove guards from machines or tools
● Pay attention to safety demonstration and ask if you need help
● Kepp floors clean from backpacks and debris
● Observe “satey zone” around machines. Only the operator and instructor are allowed in
these zones - allow for a 6 ft distance between people
● Never sit on a piece of machinery
● Compressed air can be dangerous! Neer point it atyour eyes or ears
● Saftey glasses must be worn whenever you or another student is using a tool/machine
● Horseplay, messing around, goofing off is never allowed
● Have the instructor double-check your set-up
● Unplug tools before making adjustments
● Make sure the switch is the “off” position beforeplugging in any ower tool
● Unplug tools by pulling on the plug, not the cord
● Report damaged tools to the instructor at once!
● Tie long hair back! Long hair / loose clothing / jewelry can get caught in revolving
machinery. Remove / tie back / tuck in.
● No gloves / headphones / baggy clothes
● Let the instructor know immediately if you get injured
● Watch what you are doing! Focus your attention on the task at hand
● Caution another student if you see the doing something dangerous. Let the instructor
know too
● Sharp tools cut netter, require less effort, andare much safer! Let the instructor know if a
tool is dull
● You are responsible for reporting any situation that could cause you to be a hazard to
yourself or others
● You must pass the Saftey test AND recive instruction on each specific tool/machine
before operating it
