Before reading the article, I thought there were a lot more incidences of violence

against women. Thus, we should be much more careful and focused on protecting them.

Additionally, I previously believed that prejudice against a person's gender was the only

form of gender discrimination. They are only the targets of discrimination due to their

gender or the socially unacceptable gender roles they play. Another issue is that I was

under the impression that there was already adequate protection for students in schools,

so I had no clue how severe and pervasive the prejudice was.
