1. Why do you think Fortune magazine has selected Linda


Wachner to be the first lady in the Club 500? Give three
reasons.

• CEO for many successful brands

• Very Dedicated to business, profits & productivity

• Up normal financial performance for the companies (Great financial position)

2. Where do you place Linda as a manager or a strategic


leader? Why?
• She is a manager

• Reason: A leader is a person that always cares about the vision while a manager is a person

that is setting goals, in our case, vision cannot be achieved by emulating employees which is

the most important factor in any company. Linda is a pure manager that follows a strict

strategy with her employees to achieve short goals.

3. Do you accept – as a team- to work with Linda Wachner


as your immediate boss? Why? How were the process and
dynamics of the team decision-making?

• No, We Don’t Accept.


➢ Reason:
• Although she is very good and maybe genius in her role, she has an attitude
issue and uses only toughness style with coworkers, so maybe she is
achieving high profits, but she is doing that with the help of the employees.
• We made the decision by voting, and the Majority was No (5 to 1)

• Unfortunately, the Iguana team agrees with this statement, for the
following reasons :
▪ Egyptian Employees are not used to following rules &
procedures.
▪ Ethics are not protected by law.
▪ Egyptian Managers are not necessarily aware of business
studies and are not exposed to different styles of management.
