Zimbabwe Chess Federation cordially invites the Zimbabwe chess community to the
over-the-board 2022 Mashonaland West Grand Prix Chess Tournament. This is the
second Grand Prix tournament to be played post COVID-19 era.
Registration opens on 28 October 2022 and closes on 10 November 2022 at
2000hrs. Pairings for Round 1 will be published on Chess Results Server on 11
November at 1530hrs, for confirmed and paid-up entries only.

NB: Registration fees must be received in full prior to closing of registration.

Registrations received after the deadline will attract a US$ 5 late entry penalty and
will miss Round 1.

 TOURNAMENT REGULATIONS

1. The tournament will be played in accordance with FIDE Laws of Chess.

2. The tournament will be played over 7 Rounds as an Unrated, Swiss System

tournament.

3. The Time Control will be 30 minutes per player without increment.

4. The games will be played using Digital clocks; and pairings will be done using
Swiss Manager and published on www.chess-results.com.

5. Spectators are not allowed.

6. Walkovers to be claimed after 15 minutes.

7. Tiebreaks to be used to separate score groups

ii.Head-to-head
iii.More wins as Black

8. Prize funds to be shared equally by players on the same number of points.

9. Recording is not compulsory.

10. Electronic devices and mobile phones are strictly banned from the playing hall.

11. There will be no games bulletins and analysis will not be permitted in the playing
area.

12. Alcohol, smoking and eating are prohibited in the playing hall.

 ACCOMMODATION

Accommodation will be provided at Shingirai Youth Centre at a discounted fee of

US$ 5 per individual, per night( bed and Wi-Fi only). This is given at a first come
first serve basis and those interested should confirm by 5 November by
registering for the tournament and paying accommodation fees through the
communicated channels.

APPEALS

Appeals should be submitted in writing to the Chief Arbiter within thirty (30) minutes
after the end of the round in question, with a US$ 20 deposit. The deposit is
refundable, if the appeal is successful.
