Furthermore, actual valve positions will be dependent on ambient conditions Please notice that after setting EGB in Automatic control, effecis of ambient changes in scavenge air pressure can be different than normal, That also means thal when comparing member engines with different ambient conditions and normal ISO corrections, it's important to compare the ob- servations with the EGB in manual mode. It is recommended to carry out a test at guarantee load at which the bypass is partly open. This should be performed in manual mode and a reference bypass position must be noted for test on. next engine, The reference bypass position is decided based on predicted scavenging air pressure in the guarantee point The scavenge air at guarantee point can be calculated based on the predicted decrease in P-scav from 100% to guarantee point found in, for instance, tech data. Example: 11 85% load is guarantee load and performance must be compared to next member engine at ISO corrected values the following procedure is to be used: ‘The predicted decrease in P-scav. from 100% to 86% load running with bypass is 0.93 bar, Run the engine at 8596 load and adjust manually the bypass untl P-scav. = (P-scav.100% - 0.33 boar is obtained at correct P-max, This can possible take some adjustments, Note!
