BH Seeking a teaching position at Frontier Elementary School to motivate students

through an invigorating learning environment that fosters confidence and
emphasizes individual expression and encourages exploration of their natural
curiosities.

Dear hiring committee,

CONTACT I am seeking a 5th grade teaching position at Frontier Elementary in the Tea Area
School District. I will be graduating from Northern State University with a Bachelor
of Science degree in Elementary Education in May 2023. I would be an ideal
605- 5 2 0 - 6 8 6 6 candidate for this position because Northern State University has provided me
with many opportunities to gain teaching experience, I have many hours of
substitute teaching under my belt, I have been coaching athletes for over 7 years
brennamherting@outlook.com and I can motivate students through an invigorating learning environment.

I am currently student teaching in a 2nd grade classroom at Mike Miller

816 E Kemp Ave Elementary in the Aberdeen School District. I have learned how to manage the
Watertown, SD classroom through effective communication, planning, modeling, and reinforcing
57201 appropriate behaviors and procedures in order to increase instructional time.
Additionally, I have substitute taught in the Aberdeen School district. I have
https:// worked at all of the elementary and middle schools and spent time in all grade
missbrennaherting.weebly.com/ levels.

My prior experience of working with children began through coaching young

athletes as a certified USAG club gymnastics coach. As a coach I set up
equipment, individualize one-on-one private lessons, lead birthday parties,
maintain a safe environment, and oversee other employees. However, my main
responsibilities are creating lesson plans and instructing group classes. These
classes are filled with a diverse group of athletes who all learn in a unique way. To
accommodate their needs I often break down skill instruction to explain things in
several different ways and work one-on-one with them to cement learning. As a
result, I have become proficient at designing creative and stimulating lesson
plans, which accommodate multiple intelligences, bring a hands-on approach to
learning, and keep students interested and focused.

My greatest strengths include motivating students through an invigorating

learning environment that fosters confidence and encourages children to reach
their full potential. I am adept at creating routines and procedures that allow
children to understand my expectations and feel successful during their classes. I
know how to maintain good class control by being authoritative, but still kind and
understanding through the use of positive reinforcement.

Frontier Elementary is a progressive, forward-thinking school that is achieving

excellence in academics, and as such, is of great interest to me. I believe that my
prior experience has prepared me to be an educator capable of educating and
empowering each student for success in a global society. I would love the
opportunity to bring my enthusiasm for education and dedication to young
learners to Frontier Elementary.

I appreciate your time and consideration in reading through my application

materials. I would welcome a chance to interview with you and your staff. If you
have any questions or concerns, please feel free to call or email me. I look
forward to hearing from you and discussing the positions open within your school
district.
