FILIPINOS CIVILIZED PRIOR TO THE COLONIZATION OF SPAIN

The quantity growth of colonization in our country Philippines was caused by the
Spanish period by improving our education in terms of our linguistic skills, civilization,
and the influence of Spanish culture that is now presented nowadays. We now witness
the rapid changes in our culture and some of our traditional heritages are preserving
their mores in our community. Jose Rizal's insightful perspective regarding the arrival
of Spanish imperialism brought a huge improvement and sometimes it might dispute
our way of thinking differs from theirs.

Our clothing was based off on wearing traditional clothes called Baro which is the top
and the bottom is called Saya, or skirt. Maybe it was a significant choice to distinguish
them from the ruling class or social stratification. However, it is the epitome of our
elegance and particular classes to identity ourselves that we are educated and we may
not be called "Indio" or imbecile. Whenever they will wear such luxurious clothes, they
must not forget their jewelry as a symbol of their success in their community. Their
centralized government was governed by the local and national governments to
regulate the laws that were administered to them. They also have the right to collect
taxes, altering the law to provide peace and order in one's society. There is a Governor-
General, Residencia, Visita, and other government positions that hold the ultimate
power to rule and authorized officials to recognize their positions. According to what I
have researched, their law was based on the military of Ultramar exercising power over
the Philippines' affairs and was given the representation of Spanish in the legislative
body. Their writings were usually riddles, legends, and myths in a time of their
subjugation. Doctrina Christiana is the first book printed and a prayerbook for the
ministers who read them aloud were written in Spanish without translation to the Indio
to rely on their memories. Second are the Ladinos, who are Tagalog and Spanish
depending on their fluency to understand the devotional poetry, and lastly, Fransico
Baltazar, who wrote the popular saga and narrative poem of Florante and Laura that is
now used to read by young students. Moreover, Dr. Jose Rizal was a writer who was
responsible for writing Noli Me Tangere and El Filibusterismo to emphasize the
unbalanced treatment of Spanish by the Filipinos. His novel dominated the entire
country, used as a weapon that rendered the message completely. Our religion
influenced us to spread Catholicism, and we worship the saints and memorize the
prayers. Religion plays a great role in holding our society together, and it teaches us the
morality of behaving in a right way and avoiding immoral actions that are vile. Added
to that, religion is predominant during that time because the parish is powerful at
inspiring people and controlling the government's decisions that are conflicting.
Portraits of saints, heavens, and the crucifixion are among the most popular visual arts.
Every painting during the Spanish Period, they used jewellery in their artworks and
landscape sceneries. In the Spanish Period, they introduced the more exceptional
methods of agriculture for improvement and engineering to improve the lives of people.
Trading valuable objects during the Spanish era to help to improve the progress of their
economy by exchanging their products to other countries through importing and
exporting everywhere. A price was fixed by commodities and agreed to pay gold to
have an investment.
