Activity 2. What is the implication of having early care and education for the infant and toddler
level? Use the space provided below in explaining your answer.

Early care and education provide a powerful way to make a positive

difference in the lives of infants and toddlers. The curriculum is designed to
meet the unique and individual needs of each child while promoting
practices that promote relationship-based care between children,
caregivers, and families. Since early care and education focus on the
unique learning abilities of infants and toddlers, caregivers and families
learn how to plan appropriate activities, how to use daily routines to bond
with children, and how to provide cognitive stimulation through
conversation, interaction, and responsive relationships. Therefore, the
implications of having early care and education have a significant influence
on children's subsequent developmental and learning outcomes. Early
experiences during the first three years of life have been identified as being
foundational in terms of cognitive, social, emotional, language, and physical
development, with robust evidence demonstrating that early experiences
matter. In particular, the environment where the children are raised has a
huge factor in shaping the whole child. Furthermore, providing infants and
toddlers with sensitive, responsive, emotionally available, and cognitively
stimulating interactions is identified as a core contributor to the early
learning of these foundational skills.
