 Now it has many versions, more powerful than the first version e.g,: Office 2007,2010
and 2016 etc

1. RIBBON:
It consists of different types of tabs; these tabs include different menus that
provide different types of tools or operations for text.
Ribbon’s tabs include;
 Home tab
 Insert tab

 Design tab
 Layout tab etc.
2. DOCUMENTATION AREA:
The blank area of MS word where we can write
the text, insert pictures or any graphical objects.

3. TITLE BAR:
It shows the current opened file’s name

4. QUICK ACCESS TOOLBAR:


It can be used to perform quick operations for document or file for
example it provides quick save option, undo option etc. Quick access toolbar can add different
quick facility options.
5. TASKBAR:
Shows current opened files and also shows some shortcut icons that
can be used to open a file/software quickly (if present in taskbar)

6. FORMATTING TOOLBAR:
Can be used to apply formatting on selected text for example it provides
options like
 Font style to change font
 Font Size to change font’s size eg 8 to 72
 to bold text
 provides bullets
and many other options/operations for text

7. STATUS BAR

 A feature in Microsoft Word that provides information about the document,


including the current page number, word count, and language being used.
 Usually located at the bottom of the screen
 can be adjusted to display different information.
8. SCROLL BAR

 A feature that enables users to navigate through a document by moving the


viewable area in different directions.
 Located on the right side of the window (for up and down)
 Located on the bottom of the window (for left and right)
 Can be used with a mouse

9. MS WORD CURSOR:

 It is a blinking line that indicates where the next character ,object or symbol will be
inserted in a document.
 It can be moved using the mouse or keyboard
