A Cook Order Some Utensils
A Cook Order Some Utensils
- Toni: Hi Jonay, I´d like to order some new utensils for the restaurant.
- Jonay: What exactly do you need?
- Toni: I need four tongs, two whisk and two spatulas, please.
- Jonay: Ok. Anything else?
- Toni: Let´s see. We´ll also need some new collanders and measuring cups.
- Jonay: How many do you need?
- Toni: I need one collander and four measuring cups.
- Jonay: Ok. I´ll have everything delive tomorrow.
B) Two cooks discuss about the right the way to carry out a recipe.
- Toni: I'm having trouble with this cookie recipe.
- Jonay: Really? What's the problem?
- Toni: Well, the baking soda is supposed to dissolve before I combine it with the
mixture.
- Jonay: Did you let it sit for a while?
- Toni: Yes. I added the baking soda to the water, and then I set it aside. That was fifteen
minutes ago.
- Jonay: Hmm. Maybe the water wasn't hot enough.
- Toni: That could be it came from the sink. If I were you, I would eat some water on the
stove and then stir in the baking soda.
- That's a good idea. I'll give it a try.
C) A cook talks with a customer about different options for eating meat.
D) A server and a customer talk about the different dishes in the menu.
- Toni: Do you have any questions about our shellfish menu, Sir?
- Jonay: No, I think I'm ready to order. I'd like to get the lobster.
- Toni: Did you want the baked lobster or the lobster Stew?
- Jonay: The baked one sounds good. What else is in that?
- Toni: It has a garlic stuffing and it's served in the shell with lemons and butter.
- Jonay: sorry, I'm allergic to butter, what do you recommend?
- Toni: Hmm, allergic to butter? Well, the grilled shrimp with pasta is great this time of
year.
- Jonay: Sounds great. I'll have that instead.
