T O S TA R T

• One player will act as the U.N, which

will manage the resource points and
make sure that the rules are always in
play

• The player tasked to be the U.N. will

not take part in the game

T O S TA R T

• Each player will choose a territory to

play as

• Once it is chosen, the players must

sit in the place where their chosen
territory is located in the hexagonal
board

• It is important that the players must

be aware of the pros and cons of
each nation

PROS AND CONS OF EVERY TERRITORY

• China - starts with 200 resource points yet needs to cross 9 tiles to win

• Taiwan- starts with 175 resource points yet needs to cross 8 tiles to win

• Philippines - starts with 150 resource points yet needs to cross 7 tiles to win

• Malaysia - starts with 125 resource points yet needs to cross 6 tiles to win

• Vietnam - starts with 100 resource points yet needs to cross 5 tiles to win

• Brunei - starts with 75 resource points yet needs to cross 4 tiles to win

T O S TA R T

order of play. Highest roller gets to
play first. Tiebreaker dice must be
rolled in case of a tie

• All players must use their respective

warship icons as their characters

T O S TA R T

• The U.N. must distribute the proper

amount of starting resource points

• All warship icons must start from

outside the board

• The first turn is done by spending 25

resource points to get in the map

W H AT T O D O I N A
TURN

• Player must pay the amount required in the next tile (shown on the board)

100 resource points. In this scenario, the player must pay 100 resource
points to the U.N.

prior

• Player must pay the amount required in the tile the attacked player is in
(shown on the board)

• If one player cannot afford an attack or choose not to spend much: an

allied attack can also be initiated by a player to split the fee among
multiple players in attacking only one player

DO NOTHING

• No action will be done in that player’s turn

• The only time in the game a player will earn resource points in the middle
of the game

• The amount of resource points earned will depend on the amount present
on the tule prior to the player’s current tile

S U C C E S S F U L C R E AT I O N A N D S U B M I S S I O N O F Y O U R G R O U P TA S K ?

• The online tools were a great help because we got all our information from
it. Through researching, we also learned a lot about not only the situation
itself but laws and context regarding territorial disputes. The online tools
were also beneficial to us in terms of board designing and communication.
2 . W H AT P E A C E F U L R E S O L U T I O N C A N Y O U
PROVIDE FOR THIS ISSUE?

• The most peaceful way to solve such a dispute is through legal and
diplomatic means. We think that it is best that all 6 nations involved shall
send representatives to meet at a place to ratify and create a treaty in
which every nation will compromise on to make the final borders that will
define the South China Sea.
5. HOW CAN IT PROMOTE THE HUMAN RIGHTS OF THE
CITIZENS OF THESE AFFECTED COUNTRIES’ TERRITORIES?

• The maritime disputes affect the livelihood of the people in coastal

communities especially the fishermen. These fishermen would rather go
out and fish in calm and peaceful waters than in disputed seas. It affects
their right to go to work and sustain their families.
“We hope you like the game! That is all.”
