1. How do you conceptualize a research study and why do we need to conduct research?
Conceptualization is the process of not only selecting a topic but formulating a defensible
and researchable research problem. It is more than simply generating a list of interesting topics.
In a nutshell, it’s creating the means to have a solid case for doing research. In conceptualizing a
research the researcher always follow the scientific procedure such as the following 1) Identify
and conceptualize a research topic; 2) Formulate a research problem and develop hypothesis; 3)
Identify key theories, terminologies, concepts, and methods; 4) Gathering and interpretations of
data; and 5) Drawing a conclusion and giving recommendation.
The main purposes of conducting research are the following 1) It's a tool for building
knowledge and facilitating learning; 2) It's a means to understand issues and increase public
awareness; 3) It helps us succeed in business; 4) It allows us to disprove lies and support truths;
5) It is a means to find, gauge, and seize opportunities. 6) It promotes a love of and confidence
in reading, writing, analyzing, and sharing valuable information; and 7) It provides nourishment
and exercise for the mind.
